The Chonburi Governor, Phakkhrathon Thianchai, has announced yesterday (August 15th) the temporary closure of a company and dormitories in Ban Bueng.

The order was posted by the Chonburi Public Relations office last night. The orders conclude, “Many Covid -19 confirmed cases were being found at companies and dormitories in the Ban Bueng area.

“In order to control the spread of the virus, the Chonburi communicable disease committee has ordered the following temporary closure of the places below.”

if these places were closed as they should be with proper lockdowns then these outbreaks wouldn't be happening, Factories and other businesses  still operating as normal as the virus spreads, only essential businesses should be open like food supply etc

Thailand is still exporting goods - where do you think it is coming from, big businesses are still churning away because big money says so, so what is actually locked down - very little in the grand scheme of things

Yes, the minority still have to make money at the expense of the majority.

If they are locking everything down and cases are still rising at the same rate then obviously the lockdowns don't work.  At least not with Delta.  The solution is not more lockdowns and restrictions and more economic hardship.  As the saying goes, the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over again expecting a different result.

It's takes more than a press release announcing a lock down for there to be a proper lock down.

If the lock down was seriously enforced, the way the Thai justice system can be when it wants to be, then this current wave could have been successfully dealt with and we would be through it already.

In my opinion, a harsh but short lock down is preferential to a long drawn out half a**sed lock down.

It's spreading faster than he can close them.... too little too late.

Lockdowns are the only bullets they have in their arsenal. NO reflection on the utter absurdity of it.
