anchadian
Wat Dang in Samut Sakhon had to demolish the crematorium and build a new one due to overuse. Not every temple is equipped to cremate #COVID19 victims and as this one was cremating 5-6 bodies a day the 22 year-old crematorium couldn’t cope https://matichon.co.th/region/news_2900057… #Thailand https://twitter.com/ThaiNewsReports/status/1429646369757691909 1

anchadian
Death rates underline importance of vaccination as government aims for November target for red zones The Thai government is setting itself a November target for heard immunity through vaccination and infection in red areas across the country, a Ministry of Public Health source told Thai Enquirer on Monday. According to the source, the government understands that lockdown measures will only mitigate the pandemic but will not be sufficient to end the spread of the disease or the increasing death rates. https://www.thaienquirer.com/31546/death-rates-underline-importance-of-vaccination-as-government-aims-for-november-target-for-red-zones/

No process to report it. Possibly why Thailand has such a low death rate per infection. This is not hiding deaths (not a government conspiracy) just how it is. You do know that not reporting a death is a criminal offense and a death certificate is mandatory.
Popular Post Bkk Brian
New thread..... Leading Thai doctor says the Covid stats can't be trusted Dr Thira Woratanarat went on his personal Facebook page to suggest that the figures for Covid-19 infections and deaths do not reflect reality. The Chula medical sciences guru said it made no sense that 250-500,000 cases took 27 days and 500,000 to a milllion took less - only 25 days He was skeptical that any peaks had been reached despite some saying they had. https://aseannow.com/topic/1228411-leading-thai-doctor-says-the-covid-stats-cant-be-trusted/ Edited August 23, 2021 by Bkk Brian

I have never seen a death certificate given to my Thai family in all the years I have been here. The local village headman with a local police office recorded the death and that's the end of it. Now if they died in the hospital then that's a different story then if dying at home like my grandfather, grandmother, aunts, and uncles, did surrounded by family. Nevertheless i think there is better background sentiment (in the market) at least partly due to a feeling that the worst of the covid figures maybe behind us.

Popular Post dinsdale
I posted this on the other thread but I think it also can be posted here. Cases continue at around 40% infection rate. One can therefore extrapolate that 50,000 tests a day 20,000 infections detected. 100,000 tests a day 40,000 infections detected. 40,000 tests 16,000 detections. If they did 100,000 PCR tests per day and went out into the community and did 100,000 ATK tests per day (taking into account false positives and false negatives) you would be looking at numbers upward of 60,000 per day at the low end being an infection rate of 30% and maybe 100,000 at the high end being an infection rate of 50%.
