Popular Post snoop1130
Bangkok, 23 August, 2021 – Bangkok and Phuket have been named among the world’s most popular destinations in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2021 awards. TAT Governor, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, said “It’s wonderful to know that Bangkok and Phuket remain firmly entrenched in the minds of travellers everywhere as being two of the favourite tourist destinations on the globe. It’s also particularly satisfying when you consider these Best of the Best awards are chosen by those who have personally experienced and obviously cherished the destinations.” Bangkok and Phuket appear in the ‘Popular Destinations – World’ category of the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2021 awards – iconic, can’t miss destinations that are always at the top of travellers’ wish lists. Bangkok is described as: “Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you’ve never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savour mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendour of the Grand Palace.” And Phuket as: “An international magnet for beach lovers and serious divers, who enthusiastically submerge themselves in the Andaman Sea. Blue lagoons and salmon sunsets make for a dream-like atmosphere, and indeed, a vacation here can feel a bit surreal. Water sports are the most popular activities, though once you’ve had enough sun, there’s still plenty to explore at the island’s aquariums, gardens, and Buddhist temples.” Thailand was also included in other categories of the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2021 awards, by way of the enchanting culture and fascinating heritage on offer to tourists who visit the kingdom. Featured in the Things to Do section of Tripadvisor’s website, the ‘Phuket Thai Cooking Class’ 3-hour tour in which tourists learn to prepare authentic Thai cuisine was voted into the ‘Top Overall Experiences – World’ category; while the full-day ‘Private Excursion to Floating Market and Ayutthaya World Heritage Site’ tour made it into the ‘Top Luxury Tours – World’ category. Popular Post ThailandRyan
Just when were these Travelers who were polled here? 2019? There is no way that that many travelers who visited here in 2020 could have visited the below: 6 minutes ago, snoop1130 said: Featured in the Things to Do section of Tripadvisor’s website, the ‘Phuket Thai Cooking Class’ 3-hour tour in which tourists learn to prepare authentic Thai cuisine was voted into the ‘Top Overall Experiences – World’ category; while the full-day ‘Private Excursion to Floating Market and Ayutthaya World Heritage Site’ tour made it into the ‘Top Luxury Tours – World’ category. More like paying trip advisor to stay at the top of the web views, maybe that's what working from home was done for so they could spam the Thailand websites for tourists and boost the numbers...... Popular Post Caldera
Ridiculous, considering the low number of people that have actually visited recently. Meanwhile some places in Europe and Mexico are teeming with tourists right now, I'd call them "popular" as people are actually traveling there in 2021.

Popular Post Sydebolle
Among Thai destinations, that is possible. Compared to the rest of the world, those few fellas touring Bangkok and Phuket are hardly seen on a statistic, if you compare it to Barcelona, Vienna or other completely open places. In addition, TripAdvisor is a private company and hardly a neutral source of unbiased facts. In the days I had a restaurant, I was offered 100 top ratings on TripAdvisor by a digital nomad in Vietnam, if I would pay some money. I informed TripAdvisor on this "offer" and the first enquiry went unheard. A repeated enquiry from my part resulted in "there is nothing we can do about" and "yes, we know". Just in case you care to know the professionalism of some online platforms ranking destinations and services ......... 3

DBath
“Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you’ve never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok.” They forgot to mention the well-place man hole covers that will swallow you whole while walking around the city, if you’re not careful. Oh, and the double-pricing, gauging and the arrogance and racism by some (not all) Thais towards westerners is also a delight. Also, the crooked police / government officials and their brown envelopes!! Don’t get me wrong, while I did enjoy my year-and-a-half living in Thailand, there were just a few things I found surprising - even comical. If I were still in my whore-mongering years or only visiting as a tourist, some of those things would have probably been much easier to overlook. Burma Bill
4 hours ago, TheAppletons said: used to accept bribes for posting fake reviews With respect, not that I was aware of. Trip Advisor relies on comments from independent travelers/tourists and is not directly involved with businesses, places etc. Some of the independent contributors may have been bribed but could be identified. For example, 1 person stating a restaurant is outstanding and worth a visit whereas 40 others stating it is rubbish and definitely "do not visit". I was a regular contributor, pre-covid, over several years whilst living in Thailand. I used to report on my travels to Burma (pre-coup), Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam from Thailand where I was living and I can assure you of my honesty and integrity in my reporting the truth. I lived in the north of Thailand so Bangkok (which I hated) and the southern seaside resorts were never on my "to report" list. Where praise was genuinely due, I promoted the northern Thai resorts among the lakes, rivers, mountains and forests.
