Popular Post webfact
By Cod Satrusayang Thailand, along with several other South East Asian countries, have made Bloomberg’s list of worst places to be for the current phase of the pandemic which has been fueled by the spread of the Delta variant. While Thailand was one of the most successful countries to tackle the virus in 2020, the country has regressed horribly with the spread of Delta in 2021. Thailand has seen 1,092,006 cases and 10,220 deaths since April 1 with a mortality rate of 0.94% making it one of the hardest hit countries this year. Popular Post Mr Meeseeks
Certainly must be horrible right now if you are a local and on a low income. Looking at Pattaya now and the place is like a set from an apocalypse movie. Yet the 116m thb beautification of Pattaya beach continues apace, with imported trees from Nong Nooch and funky paving. Likely that locals do not blame the local mafia clan that runs the place but tourists will feel the brunt of it with increased hostility and crime, that is if tourists ever do return in any great numbers. 13 1 2

Popular Post mtls2005
I'm a glass half-full sort of guy, this morning anyway... "According to Bloomberg, “The bottom five in August’s Ranking are Southeast Asian economies, a region that’s emerged as the new virus epicenter with the world’s highest monthly death toll per capita: Thailand at No. 49, Vietnam at No. 50, Indonesia No. 51, the Philippines No. 52 and Malaysia in last place.” Thailand is number 1..... among Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia. 2

Popular Post Crossy
From the linked article:- Quote But despite the report from Bloomberg, the country is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with vaccination rates surging and case numbers dropping. It could be the headlamp of an oncoming train! 4
Popular Post Misterwhisper
What a bizarre contrast to TripAdvisor's recent "Bangkok and Thailand best travel destinations 2021" award. It will be most interesting to see how the creative eggheads at TAT are going to save the nation's face this time. I am positively certain that they're already feverishly working on some sort of a preposterous disclaimer.

When it first hit Thailand and there were so many Chinese travellers I thought it would spread very quickly. Pattaya for instance. But it didn't and someone should take a bit of credit for that. But with this new Delta variant who has controlled it? Australia was going well but now it's spreading in the 2 biggest states. Maybe you meant No Surprise because it's the Delta variant.
