Gang of alleged fake police arrested after allegedly extorting a young woman at a former Pattaya chicken fighting field

A group of men described as a gang of “fake police” by Pattaya Police has been arrested after allegedly detaining a young Thai woman in a dog kennel and extorting from her 50,000 baht in Pattaya.

 

Today (September 2nd), a team from the Pattaya City Police led by Police Deputy Chief Colonel Tanawut Kongjira, has arrested Mr. Pakorn Sangpreawpraw, 28, Mr. Santi Janthong, 37, and Mr. Sukjai Horthongkam, 34, and charged them initially with impersonating a police officer.

 

The arrest followed the victim’s mother filing an official report regarding her missing daughter on Monday, (August 30th).

Fake police or fake Thai police?    I think if you asked the average Thai they would consider a group of individuals to be fake Thai police if NOT extorting money .

Fake police or real police what's the different between them , them are both out there to get rich from other normal people and don't care about protect and serve as them should have do.

Kidnapping should also be in the charges.... not as important as cutting in on police turf, but still a crime, perhaps?

and at least one of the extortion gang was an ex navy officer.

Apart those times the 'usual' police may do the extortion themselves, without outsourcing.
