Faucci, his wife and children now need bodyguards because of the violent, idiotic, hateful, conspiracy crackpot followers of Trump.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens would still be alive if Trump just let the experts handle the pandemic...but noooo, the blowhard president, that "knows more than anybody about everything", never shut his pie hole and every time he opened his mouth, something really stupid came out.

Many of Trumps cabinet at the early stages were reasonable but soon they were gone and positions filled with unconfirmed bozos.

Final days, the Oval Office was filled with the lunatic advisors, like Flynn, Giuliani, Sydney Powell, My Pillow Guy, Bannon, Steven Miller, Kushner with a direct hotline to Alex Jones, FOX, Q weirdos & KKK headquarters.

Still, millions of Americans support the dimwit president.

The mind boggles.

Millions of Americans still support him, and believe horse medicine will keep them from getting covid.  I'm guessing there's a correlation with intelligence somewhere here....LOL.

I don't know about intelligence but there's an easily provable correlation between education and politics. Academic institutions are overwhelmingly liberal. I guess it isn't hard to take that one step further and correlate between education and intelligence. The rejection of science by the far right speaks volumes as well.

NEWSMAX, TV channel in the USA, popular among a significant percentage of Republicans.

The NEWSMAX White House correspondent Emerald Robinson tweeted out on Monday an utterly bat<deleted> crazy claim that Covid-19 vaccines contain a "bioluminescent marker' named Lucifer "so that you can be tracked" by the devil.

Yes this lady actually has a PRESS PASS into the White House!

Nutters. Same with all those who even watch this dodgy media outlet.

this article makes clear the various US constitutional federal and state duties arising from pandemics.

appears that vigorous state responses are strongly dependent on fast effective federal actions.

suppose this piece also applies in principle to other “free federations” like Canada, Australia & even UK with it’s “devolved parliaments”.

This is about as bad as it gets.  Online misinformation.  Stunning, and scary, anyone would actually fall for this.

QAnon believers gathered to see something physically impossible

CNN's Donie O'Sullivan speaks with John Berman about why hundreds of QAnon believers gathered in Dallas to witness something impossible: the supposed return of John F. Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr., who died in 1963 and 1999, respectively.

One of many reasons to avoid dodgy outlets like Newsmax:

Twitter Suspends Newsmax Star Who Claimed Vaccines Contain Satanic Tracker

Newsmax White House correspondent Emerald Robinson has been suspended from Twitter after posting a patently absurd claim that COVID-19 vaccines contain a “bioluminescent” tracking device linked to the devil. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Beast on Wednesday that Robinson’s account “has been temporarily locked for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy.”

Robinson, who has relentlessly peddled baseless anti-vaccine rhetoric, took to Twitter on Monday night to warn Christians that “the vaccines contain a bioluminescent marker called LUCIFERASE so that you can be tracked,” suggesting that vaccinations are akin to the Mark of the Beast. Twitter eventually took down the post, replacing it with a note stating the original content violated the social platform’s rules.

The GOP playbook is to keep the base in a constant state of agitation, fear, outrage and hate for their perceived enemy combatants…Democrats.
They have a long list of things they know will trigger their blue collar base and they flood the right wing echo chamber with stories of imaginary voter fraud, transvestite rights, killer immigrants, BLM, wokeness, confederate statues, gun regulations, tracking devices in vaccines, even believe the Democrats will can cancel Christmas.

An agitated base is a motivated base and they will get to the polls and vote for the Republican platform. Ya know, tax cuts for the rich.

The GOP was hard core on voter fraud.  Said it happened in Nevada.  Guess what?  The one who did it was a republican.

https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/prosecutors-clark-county-man-touted-in-republican-election-fraud-allegations-voted-his-dead-wifes-ballot

A man who once described a ballot being cast in his dead wife’s name as “sickening” and was cited by the Nevada Republican Party last November as evidence that massive voter fraud swayed the results of the 2020 presidential election has been charged by prosecutors with voter fraud.

A great example of misinformation that millions fell for.  Pushed by the right wing media outlets and dodgy politicians.

A few here are probably still following news about Hunter's laptop and the Biden's ties to China.  Too funny.  Not very smart people.

They like Trump because he is just like them...dumber than dirt.

Sowing discord, mistrust in government, the media, science, and using emotive issues to divide society are the tools of PSY-OPS.

Oddly these same methods are being used by the rightwing and by a particular enemy of the US to which the leading rightwing political party have numerous connections.

Trump was doing a lot of business in Russia.  Even planning on building a tower where he was going to give a suite to Putin to help sell other units.  Or, as a payoff.  Who knows.  But I'd guess he got some of his tactics from Putin.  As you say, they are the experts at misinformation and PSY-OPS.  Deny, deflect, attack.

I had a friend who shared a divisive political meme on Facebook.  I researched it and found out it was one proven to have come from Russia.  I showed him the proof, he still wouldn't believe it.  His hatred for "Libs" was that overwhelming.  And yes, he's a blue collar worker.

NY City has been researching covid and vaccine misinformation online for some time.  One of the posts on Twitter that bashed the vaccine was from...yes...Russia.

Putin got his moneys worth when he invested in Trumps campaign.

The FBI discovered 147 undisclosed contacts between Trumps campaign staff, found out the campaign manager flew to Spain and gave KGB confidential polling data that helped Russia micro target US voters with disinformation andTrump himself asked for and accepted Russias help, Trump lied on his written answers to investigators....and Trump committed 10 overt acts of obstruction of justice.

All spelled out in the 1,000 page Republican Senates own investigation into the Russia interference saga.
