I plan to travel back to England with my Thai partner who is not vaccinated I read in this forum recently that some people have done this but I cannot find their posts. Can anyone advise please?

 

As of Monday 11th - Thailand was no longer on the UK Red lost. 

 

Your Wife can travel to the UK but has to quarantine at your home (or place you are staying) for 10 days.

 

There also some other requirements

- Pre-flight PCR

- Pre-flight Passenger locator form

- Book (and take) Arrival Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests (try Randox.com)

Thank you. I am aware of that but I am hoping when she is there she can get vaccinated. D you have any knowledge of how she can do that?

Get vaccinated.

I think after 5 days she can pay to do another test to potentially end home quarantine early, doing the 'Test to release' option.

As for getting vaccinated in the UK - it should be no problem at all. Check this out: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/visiting-or-moving-to-england/visitors-from-outside-the-european-economic-area-eea/

 

But to be fully vaccinated she will need to obviously remain in UK until she get the 2nd dose (time between doses will depend on vaccine). And then wait 14 days after 2nd dose before being considered fully vaccinated.

Utter Rubbish - My Wife has already been dual vaccinated with Astrazeneca, as have many of her friends.

My wife is waiting for the Moderna.

 

Can you try and register for that?  It may take a few months.

 

People who are traveling abroad are eligible for Pfeizer.

 

Unfortunately I'm not sure how that works and I haven't heard much about it since it was announced last month.

 

Very frustrating.

Your Wife can get vaccinated in the UK for free. 

In another thread, a forum member did just that (his wife was vaccinated in the UK).

I am aware of a number of people in Hua Hin, both Thai and foreigners, who have been received both of their AZ vaccinations locally.

 

Your partner should be able to receive a vaccine in a NHS facility, once she’s completed her isolation period.

That makes more sense - My Wife received her Second AZ dose at the end of August. 

 

I read that there were options for Thai's to receive AZ as the first dose and Pfizer as the second... (but can’t recall the source, so I could have got that wrong). 

 

I also read (somewhere, I can’t recall that either) that Thai’s who will be travelling abroad can register for Pfizer - information on that is thin, I can’t find it in any search.

I heard the same about traveling and Pfeizer.

 

Not much mention of it now though.

Yes. There are pop up vaccination centres all over.

I have the AZ vaccine from BNH and my friend from Banglamung in Pattaya.

We will be based outside Brighton but after the quarantine we can travel wherever

Believe me, I have tried. It is extremely difficult at the moment to get anything but the Sinovac for a Thai spouse. I too am returning to the US soon, and she will not be vaccinated. There is a rumor that it will be required after Nov. 1st. Only a rumor so far. She will get the Pfizer or Moderna once we arrive back there, freely and easily.

 

The US made plans. Thailand did not, and the blame and catastrophic effect on the economy is entirely on the tiny shoulders of Anutin and Prayuth.

It is recognized now.

I believe that anyone is welcome to be vaccinated in the UK, regardless of nationality. 

You can just turn up at a vaccination center and get jabbed.

After my wifes appointment for AZ in Hua Hin was postponed, we went to Bangkok and got a jab there.

Thai's can get a Sinovac with an AZ, that has actually been the norm, but yea to get one of the posh needles x2 is difficult for Thai's.

I am not vaccinated and I would like to travel to Thailand from the UK does that mean that I can stay at my partner's home and self quarantine....... Or would I need to quarantine at a hotel thanks

It's not odd at all, as far as I'm concerned. It's one of the most common topics of conversation that my wife has with her friends these days. And since I'm usually there when she's talking to her friends (either in person or on the phone) then I also know about her friends' vaccination status.

 

To me it would seem quite odd not to be aware of my wife's friends' lives.

And in many countries, that would not be recognized, as the Sinovac is universally acknowledged as being the lowest quality vaccine available.
