PHUKET: Officials across Phuket have been told to prepare the island to welcome foreign tourists from Nov 1, in line with the expected reopening of the country to receive vaccinated tourists without quarantine from up to 10 low-risk countries, and to make sure that their respective areas are clean and to make sure that tourists are not ripped off or are treated in any other deceitful way.

Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew delivered the message to local heads of government offices at a full meeting held at Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday (Oct 19).

Alongside the governor to deliver the message were Phuket Vice Governors Pichet Panapong and Piyapong Choowong, and Rewat Areerob, President of Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO, or OrBorJor).

It's going to be interesting to see the effect on current numbers arriving in Phuket when quarantine free options start on 1st November, although Phuket does serve as the main arrival point for those whose real destinations are in Phang Nga or Krabi provinces.    I think if anything, hotel room occupancy in Phuket will go down, at least in the short term.    Presumably Bangkok will be busy, not least for the one night hotel until test result is given.    Bottom line though, unless there is a national change in the current restrictions, there remains little incentive to vacation here.

Quess work, fortune telling, Ouija Board practice, crystal ball consultation, TAT, and other "officials" issuing wishful statements (AKA lies), forecasts, prayers, amulets, edicts, etc.  Entertaining and comical.

There is no confirmation re quarantine free.

I suspect at least one day but the law hasn't even been drafted yet.

The government is still trying to work out what to do.

What "Prayut says" and what really happens are often not the same thing.

Darn it! Now I will only be sometime hansum man with all the young euro lads returning ????????????????
