BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thai government officials on Wednesday inspected the readiness of the country's airports to welcome quarantine-free travellers, due to return next month after almost two years of strict COVID-19 rules that halted vital tourism.

‘Winter Is Coming’ – Thailand’s cold season to begin next week

Thailand is expected to enter the cold season next week and the periods of chilly weather will last longer, 5 to 7 days at a time instead of just 3 or 5 days as in previous years, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

Court rules suspect in Nakhon Sawan police custody died of deliberate suffocation

The Nakhon Sawan provincial court ruled today (Wednesday) that the drug suspect, who was seen in video footage with his head covered by plastic bags while in police custody at Muang district’s police station, died of suffocation.

Thailand sets out seven conditions for foreign arrivals without quarantine

From November 1st, foreign tourists arriving in Thailand, without being required to enter quarantine, must meet seven conditions, according to the Bureau of Risk Communication and Health Behavior Promotion of the Disease Control Department, Wednesday.

Talks held to ease motorists’ burden as tolls on Sirat Outer ring road to rise from Dec 15

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) is trying to negotiate, with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company (BEM), the concessionaire for the Sirat outer ring road expressway, an easing of the burden on motorist from the December 15th rise in tolls, as stipulated in the concession agreement.

PHUKET: Wichit Na Ranong, often referred to as the ‘Father of Phuket Tourism’, has offered Rassada Municipality use of private land to help monitor wastewater levels flowing into the Soi Paniang area, which for years has raised serious health concerns over the foul stench emanating from the canal that feeds into Samkong on the north side of Phuket Town.

Woman arrested in Minburi over alleged 5 million baht Facebook/Line hack

Naew Na reported that police from the Economic Crime Division armed with a warrant arrested a 21 year old Thai woman for fraud after she hacked Facebook and Line accounts.

Phuket marks 140 new COVID cases, no new deaths

Dental clinics urged to adopt COVID-Free Setting as patient number declines

PHUKET: Kevin Moss, the British expat who founded the Phuket Immigration Volunteers and a regular at Patong Police Station with the Region 8 Police Volunteers, has passed away after a brief battle with cancer.
