Daily News reported that Siam Commercial Bank had denied that  their customers' data had found its way onto the dark web.

A hacker claimed to be selling the data. The bank has checked and it does not involve them; now they have reported the matter to the police.

The bank said they became aware of the claims on Tuesday. They said there were no vulnerabilities that could lead to leaks at their institution.

Customers can rest assured and be confident in the bank, they stated. They have filed a (police) report already about the false claims.

Customers can contact the call center on 02 777 7777 or contact the bank via internet channels for further information.

So only SB deny a security breach.  How many other Thai banks have been hacked and are keeping quiet about it?

That is a 'no lose' scenario and pointless. A publicity stunt.

The hacker is hardly likely to come forward to defend themselves.

That's true — it is not a vulnerability when a database has no login and password.

It's usually the pesky unknown  vulnerabilities that most hackers use.

To date this "fake news" still is painting about the most likely scenario of what may have happened, a deep contrast to the 'official' multi gangs with multi methods the same night, by coincidence, randomly generated acct numbers too...

Has it been revealed which banks had this problem? It is starting to sound like it could have been only SCB. It would be cool to know anecdotally if other banks were impacted because I doubt that they will announce it a cause a panic.
