This year’s Pattaya Music Festival is being organised to coincide with Thailand’s reopening to foreign tourists on November 1st, with the first events on November 5th and 6th.

The Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, the Pattaya Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Pattaya City Municipality have announced measures for this year’s music festival. All attendees must be fully vaccinated with two doses and must take rapid antigen tests before entry.

The festival will be held on Pattaya beach on November 5th and 6th, on Jomtien beach on November 12th, on Nual beach on Koh Larn on November 13th, at Lan Pho Park on November 19th and 20th and on Pattaya beach again on December 3rd and 4th.

What a waste of time and money

And a couple of days to stay away from town.

Don't see how they can restrict access the way they claim above... impossible.

the 7/11 bars that remain open will be busy, beach road awash with street food vendors packing 4/5 into hotel rooms, will seem like high seasons started.

And how or where will these rapid tests be done ?? In time to get to the festival ?

Maybe they mean performers ?  I can't see how they will be able to

"rapid test"   everyone attending before entry...unless they are only expecting a handful of attendees ?

And all with the 500 Maximum number for any one given Venue event .

As per the latest directives

What a Joke

No doubt the Thai music ofiicionados & lovers of a freebie gizzet will be be creaming their jean's at this news, I'll pass thanks.

It is usually very good, very popular and a big revenue generator with thousands of people attending. Music festivals are popular all over the world and Thailand is no exception. But you can trust the resident fun police on this forum to have think otherwise.

It has a lot more than 'Thai' music with a wide range of musicians performing numerous, different genres. It is usually very good indeed with a great atmosphere. Pattaya is a great place for festivals, parties and outdoor celebrations with about one event every fortnight around Beach Road. However, the grumpy, joyless dullards and professional sadsters will no doubt moan at the idea of people enjoying themselves...lol!

It's no doubt a good idea, get some fun back into life again. However, masks and a maximum of 500 people are potentially going to kill it.

5555, Too funny ????????

These tests are rapid, not instant.  Where are they going to stack people while they wait for the results?

That has all the charm of a George Orwell novel.

Perhaps they worry about the likelihood of elevated infections and deaths and a possible return to the misery of lockdown in Pattaya.... it has been suffered long enough. These events are great while you are up near the stage.... the bedlam and shambles getting there, and away, is another matter.

Its absolutely <deleted> in the first place why are they trying to get it happening

I feel sorry for youngsters. The entire generation’s youth is being whittled away by a bunch of pensioners with bad cases of hemrohoids.

Well I don't like to be a killjoy but I wouldn't go anywhere near a venue with so many people clustered together, vaxed or tested. thanks but no thanks.

Why hold the event before Pattaya is back in full swing?  What's the point?

This event could have kicked off the full reopening of Pattaya, particularly for domestic tourism.
