Thailand Pass Is Up And Running

Recommended Posts

Okay, here's my story which may help someone.

Currently in UK with Thai Wife, planning to return to LOS 15th November.

Apple Macbook Pro using Chrome.

No problem until it came to the final Submit which returned the API Sever error. Multiple re-uploading Insurance file and Re-submit achieved nothing but the same error message.

Closed Chrome, opened Firefox and entered the wife's details. Sailed all the way through and successfully submitted.

Then, still using Firefox, entered my own details again. Had no problem registering using same email and passport number but once again final submission failed with API Server error.

Using the back buttons in the application, edited my passport number by putting a space at the end of it, next, next, next through to final submit button again and it worked.

No confirmation email as yet or message at the end of the process as to how long I might have to wait.

Hope this helps.

Just got my Thailand pass QR-code for entering Phuket on the 6th of November. Applied for it today at around 09:00am Berlin time. Took from application till approval around 6hrs.

Uploaded following documents (got jpg through making screenshots of the pdfs):

  • Printed Vaccine certificate (yellow book: 1st page and page with the covid vaccines) as one jpg file.
You can place that on one page with MS Word
  • EU digital vaccine certificates (exported pdf files for the 1st and 2nd shot via CovPass app)
  • PRE-PAID SHA PLUS HOTEL CONFIRMATION. Entered the SHABA-id in the booking no. field
  • Health insurance policy with sufficient coverage in Engish
  • Passport as jpg file

Helpful tool to convert pdf files to jpgs: https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/pdf-to-jpg.html

To circumvent the api errors i started google chrome on my macbook through a terminal window with the following command:

 open -na Google\ Chrome --args --user-data-dir=/tmp/temporary-chrome-profile-dir --disable-web-security --disable-site-isolation-trials

See here for other operating systems: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17679399/does-disable-web-security-work-in-chrome-anymore

I had to add one blank behind my passport no. otherwise the system rejected me (no. already in use).

Now having a  ????

Quite lucky since I haven't even got my coe pre-approval yet.

For Mac users, opening the pdfs in Preview (Vorschau) and saving as jpegs works fine too. Just make sure your jpegs don't exceed the max file size of 2 MB

Disable ‘Cross Origin Restriction

Try the CORS solution which seems to have worked for some.

Disable ‘Cross Origin Restrictions’ on your browser (you’ll have to find out how - its browser specific).

Then try again.

IF you get a Passport Number has already been used Error message  go back a few pages to the passport input (do not hit back-page on the browser, use the Back button on the page itself).

Place a space behind your passport number, submit the next couple of pages.

Re-Submit the Insurance document, then hit the final submission.

This seemed to work

IF you get the 421 4.4.5 Too many messages from this host last hour Error message then you may need to wait a while... (or log in with a VPN).

Edit: Update - Success with the Wife and Son’s application: I logged into a VPN so that the serve would accept the open connection from my IP address.

[421 error = indicates that the SMTP server has a limit on how many simultaneous open connections it will accept from a single IP address] thus I changed my IP address.

I still haven’t received an e-mail from my application / registration or that of my Wife / Son (although I did receive an on-screen success message for both).

I am using an IPad, which allows me to disable “cross site tracking”. Is that the same as “cross origin restrictions “?

No it's a different thing. Cross origin restriction is a security feature.

I was able to submit mine, converting some pdf things into images.

At the end I just saw a dialog pop up saying success, with no way to look at status.

No email confirmation either.  Anyone see anything else?

For techie folks following, I was able to submit early on using vanilla Safari+macOS.

I retried this morning adding spaces to see if I could get an email and encountered the CORS issue.

It seems likely they changed things soon after launch to try to better handle the load and broke CORS then.

I still have not received an email confirmation...I guess I'm not alone.

Folks on older browsers/PCs perhaps never see the CORS problem, so it may be

thailand based travel agents have successfully put in a lot of applications.

This worked.

First off, I ditched my IPad, and used a Windows desktop with Chrome with the CORS extension enabled.

Then, I went through all the application pages. No API errors.

When I submitted my insurance, I got an error message about my passport already being used, so I went back and put a space after my passport number. Then, I went to the insurance page, uploaded my certificate again, hit Submit, and got a success message, with a confirmation email. Now I wait for my QR code.

Thanks to everyone who figured this out.

Regarding the vaccination certificate here in Ireland you have a card with type of vaccine given and dates then they post you one certificate after your second vaccine.

This is the EU vaccine certificate has a QR code, your name and D.O.B it doesn't have your nationality or passport number.  Thai Embassy/ consulate should know this , you shouldn't have to edit them yourself to include these details as then you are submitting a doctored cert.

Anybody from Ireland, I am Uk citizen had these rejected by Thai pass & go yet.

If they reject them how do we get a pass?

A couple of posters have had rejections because their Passport Number is not on the cert (Maverick1976 - on page 6 of this thread).

By editing in your passport number !!!...

I know you don’t want to but its not really ‘doctoring' a certificate or changing information, it is simply adding required / necessary information - the certificate is just the piece of paper (JPG) required to ‘check a box’ with the Thailand Pass system - its is the QR code which is the important piece of information.

I’d recommend not making life difficult for yourself by refusing to simplify the process and just go ahead and add in your passport number (and nationality) to the Certificate.

More to the point, Thailand Pass staff are probably processing based on flight date, so if you are flying in December, expect a long wait for your QR code.

I'm not so sure about that. I successfully submitted application for Thai Pass at 09:30am (Thai time today) and still not received anything other than the acknowledgement email of application. I fly on 3rd November. Others arriving from 11th November alrready received their QR code.

IN EU we also have only 1 Certificate for both doses. I uploaded same Certificate and QR code for both doses an I think it was ok since I already got Thailand Pass.

And without it including details of passport number and nationality?

i wonder if its an automated system or an actual office, if its an office i guess were all waiting until tomorrow!

IMPORTANT! Has anyone received a confirmation email or QR Code within the last few hours????

Maybe they aren't issuing any more for today or are those without a confirmation email doing something wrong. Same issue as a lot of people. I have got the success message at the end of the form but still no confirmation email!

I received my confirmation half hour ago after 3 minutes success message. But first try was rejected about eu vaccain certification. Has anyone approved with eu 2 vaccain certifications without passport number?

I have succesfully made it through with the help of the Chrome extension mentioned in many previous replies here. Got the success window, but no confirmation email (yet - it's been a good 40 minutes)

I got two questions, really...

1) has anyone who didnt get verification (confirmation, if you will) email got a QR code?

2) if I didnt get the email, should i try and fill it out again? I know i would get the "duplicate passport" error, adding a space wherever would solve that issue. I just dont know if this will make things worse, as there will be more applications for them to validate.

Thank you

How did you get around the problem did you just submit the EU vaccination certificate again?

I just received my QR Code and this Email:

"Dear Mr. ********

Thailand Pass system has approved your registration. You can access and download your Thailand Pass QR Code by double clicking the attached PDF"

But when I check the PDF File and scan my QR Code I´ll get to the page on the picture I attach here, seems empty. Any one got the same problem?
