Would the Swift code not just to identify K-bank, then Thailand, then main city ???

i.e.

KASI (Kasikorn Bank)

TH (Thailand)

BK (location of head office - usually Bangkok in Thailand)

XXX (Branch district main office if its a main branch office out of the capital)

i.e. KASITHBKCHM (CHM or something similar for Chiang Mai)

or KASITHBKXXX (if its Kasikorn branch in Bangkok)

I’m not sure that a minor branch has its own 3 letter swift branch code.

The actual account number does the rest to get it to your account ?

Obviously to be sure, call up the branch and check... but have an idea that its going to be something similar to the above explanation (just incase they give you something completely different !)

There is a single Swift Code for each ban ing company. Google it and you will find the code for Kasikorn Bank. Overseas funds being brought into Thailand first go into a foreign exchange account in the bank in Bangkok. If it is over a certain amount you might be contacted to verify the source and reason for transfer. This is standard international forex anti money laundering practice. From Bkk it will be transferred into the branch account that you have selected. This usually takes no more than a working day

When I do mine - on the transfer docs - it asks for the swift code.

BKKBTHBK

Then it asks for the account number for deposit, and the street address of the branch.

Done.

Never a problem in almost 20 years

Some banks have more than one Swift Code, different ones for different purposes.  Perhaps not Thai banks but why not take a few minutes to call and check?

That's the code for Bangkok Bank.  Not particularly helpful as the OP is asking about Kasikorn.

Hi,

Sorry, posted a reply yesterday but it has disappeared.

Yes KASITHBK is SWIFT code.   Bank has not come back to me, so money must be on its way.

Thanks to all.
