Manager reported that people in the area of Koh Panyi and Phangnga Bay national park in southern Thailand were starting to smile again.

The area features the world famous "Khao Tapu" or James Bond Island made famous in one of the movies about the British spy.

Manager said pre-pandemic a million people a year came to the area providing locals including a floating Muslim community with a great income.

This was dealt a severe blow during the pandemic with hardly any visitors in the last two years.

However, since the November 1st reopening of Thailand, bothThai and foreign visitors are returning to the area.

Maybe that was Jamaica!.

Jamaica, no she went on her own.

Nice to see they splashed out on a new pier.

365 x 300 = 109,500 - so, at best 10% of previous visitor numbers,

Not great, but better than nothing I suppose.

They had to.  Other places have also made infrastructure improvements.

It's just peer pressure.

Mostly local Thais out for the day and the odd foreign tourist on a day trip from Phuket.
