Phetchaburi is set to begin cultivating cannabis at a special facility located in Cha Am.

On Monday (Dec 13) Mr. Nattawut Petchpromsorn, Deputy Governor of Phetchaburi Province along with other senior officials visited the site ahead of its opening.

The farm will be used for the cultivation of cannabis and hemp with crops being sent to the Department of Thai Traditional Medicine for production as medicines.

I'll bet that there are a lot of volunteer 'pickers' come harvesting time.

That will make not much sense. I bet, the plants there are "optimized" to be CDB rich with a minimum of THC.

For production of medicines they say? Soon many will have medical needs and the road total will be much higher, smart move?

Your right they are and it's such a filthy habit.

So 100 cannabis plants will contribute greatly to the areas economy.

Seems unlikely to me.

@ All of the above nay sayers...
Never in the history of mankind has so much money been spent on one plant trying to find something wrong with it to no avail.

Thailand now the hub of hashish????

Sure not. Would be enough they went back to the once famous Thai Sticks, strong (for the time then), Sativa based weed. But that won't happen. They'll produce some CBD <deleted> for "medical use".

Just photo OP, PR and waste of money.

The greenhouse looks ridiculous, so does the fencing around.

I've seen hobby growers with better and bigger setup.

As usual, without foreign advice or consulting they have absolutely no idea...

But Thailand can do, we are the greatest, hub of everything

The Maejo University cannabis farm seems to be growing well.

From the first look yes, but the yields will finally tell.

I guess it's still way under foreign based growing operations in the US etc....

You call that a fence?  Well I could, I mean someone could easily get over that.

You can bet on that. US and Netherland growers are on a professional level Thais never will reach. They produce strains with 25 and even more than 30 percent THC
