Ah yes, the forum’s resident serial troll, back again, malignantly scraping the bottom of the barrel for yet another meaningless thread. This time? Hawaiian shirts. Groundbreaking. Astounding really. Truly one of the great intellectual discussions of our time. The world holds its breath as Harris, the ban-dodging expert, oversized pest, and full-time nuisance, asks: Are they making a comeback? Mate, the only thing making a comeback around here is you, under yet another alias, after getting banned for the umpteenth time. And let’s be honest, the real question isn’t “Are Hawaiian shirts back?” but rather “Why do all cheap, creepy old sleazy sexpats like you who can’t dress themselves gravitate toward them like flies to cow dung?” Because we all know exactly who wears these monstrosities in Thailand: • 55+ year-old budget travelers from Australia who think pairing a bright floral shirt with oversized Crocs and baggy cargo shorts is peak fashion. • Washed-up bar-crawler lechers trying (and failing) to blend in with the tourists. • You, Harris. Desperately clinging to the belief that dressing like a walking Jimmy Buffett concert will distract from the fact that you spend 2/3 of your day in some place that has free WiFi, enabling you to unabatedly troll this forum because no one will talk to you in real life. And let’s not pretend you actually care about Hawaiian shirts. This post is just your usual formula: 1. Post something stupid and pointless as a distraction. 2. Hope people react so you can act condescending, hostile, and smug. 3. Troll, badger, get banned, return under a fresh new user account. 4. Repeat. Transfer USA Social Security to Bangkok Bank using International Direct Deposit
The change took place in 2019 per a new US Treasury policy regarding the transfer of funds "out of the US" via ACH. Use of the International ACH Transaction (IAT) format was required instead of the Standard ACH format. This was to better track funds flow outside of the US via ACH system, help stop transfers to bad guys, etc. Bangkok Bank did not change its policy regarding the need of a special, restricted account for US govt pensions sent via ACH thru the Bangkok Bank NY branch...doesn't matter whether the funds arrive via standard ACH format (some govt agencies still use this format) or the ACH "IAT" format. To implement the US Treasury policy Bangkok Bank NY branch just began enforcing the requirement for ACH IAT format unless it was coming from a govt agency that hadn't upgraded it's systems yet to use ACH IAT format. The US Treasury gave this waiver for those standard ACH payments to be allow thru. But if an ACH transfer is coming from a non-govt agency like a bank, brokerage, etc., then it must be in ACH IAT format or the Bangkok Bank NY branch will "not" relay it to the in-Thailand Bangkok Bank but reject the transfer back to the sender. Standard ACH format and ACH IAT format are similar but different animals...both use the ACH system but the format/coding is different. Kinda like comparing a Border Collie and a Chihuahua...they are both dogs but easy to tell they are different breeds of dog. -

And quite a few cash dispenser come with Update capability as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't(with my passbook). So I stopped using that function. Instead, I always go to bank teller for deposit and passbook updating. Always on the spot confirmation of deposit on the bank book. That is the meaning of Peace of mind. -

Are significant numbers drawn to Buddhism for the promise of immortality in Nibbana?
Hi Rocky, I don't know why most people turn to Buddhism, who haven't been brought up in a Buddhist culture. One would need to conduct a widespread, world-wide poll to find the answers. However, I suspect that those in Western countries, who do not have a religious faith, and who are agnostics or aetheists, find that Buddhism, in relation to the basic teachings of Gautama, is a rational alternative to religious dogma, and many of those basic teachings accord more with the understanding of modern science, than other religions do. A couple of examples are: "nothing is permanent, and everything is subject to cause and effect." As I understand, the term Nirvana refers to the extinction of greed, ill will, attachment to things and the delusions in the mind, which are the cause of the various types of suffering that most of us experience to some degree. The concept of 'eternal existence in the state of Nibbana' seems contradictory to the basic Buddhist concept that there is no permanent soul or self.
