National – The National Security Council Secretary-General, who also heads the Center for Covid-19 Situation Center’s “Small Panel” that runs daily operations and advises all restrictions and Covid-19 response measures, said earlier today that there will be NO national lockdown no matter how the Covid -19 situation will be after New Year.

 

The National Security Council Secretary-General Supot Malaniyom said today (December 31st). “We are preparing very hard to handle the Covid -19 pandemic after the New Year festival. Many people are going back to their hometowns and travelling.”

 

“We are requesting businesses and government offices to work from home if they can and do ATK (Rapid antigen) test when they come back to work.” Supot continued.

As I was reading the Op I thought of the same 

Quite a daring statement, we don't know how bad it will become but he is sure there wont be a lockdown after the new year.

 

I wonder how far in the future that prediction goes. ????

 

If a week or so then ok, but for a whole year ?  So what is the contect.

The suspension of the pass and go was temporary and is due to be reviewed.... I guess 4th Jan is the 'further notice'....

It is always the same story: it is always the fault of somebody else. You are supposed to know the rules in case you travel to another country. You should have to know what are the ricks of travelling during a time like this.  If you are to lazy, not clever enough to find it out yourself ..... take INFORMATION... there are now a days possibilities enough to do it. A travel compagnie  is to transport  people and not to learn them reading information about the rules of that country the passengers want to go to.

And something different tomorrow/next week/next month/next minute.

What New Year joy! Yet another muppet who can control and micromanage our lives. We all knew about Prayut and Anutin and Yong and the CCSA spokesperson, who've shut down bars and businesses, closed beaches and swimming pools, and generally made life very bland this last year, but this 'small panel' chief is a new gem for us all to treasure .

Done that already, because we all know that one bureaucrat says something and then a day or two later another who out ranks him comes out and says something else on the lines of we are locking down because mine is bigger than your.

 

If they wanna lock it down, wait till February as I want to be able to get my 40% worth from "We Travel Together", already cancelled once, twice would just be so unkind. 

Wow! that person has got a really long job title but at the same time remains anonymous, brilliant.

????" AFTER" the new year. As the new year is 2022, then AFTER the new year would be 2023. Long range forecast ?

Whatever this means it is good for Thailand. Highly selective (Prayuth/Anutin style) lockdowns accomplish little, other than crippling the average Thai, creating an explosion in homelessness, destroying tourism (perhaps permanently), and causing alot of suffering, pain and poverty. 

 

Let us get on with life and let the virus do it's thing. 

 

Stop the destruction!!!

Waiting for the announcement from the head of the "Large Panel", including that the opening of bars and clubs has been postponed indefinitely and 16 day, 15 night quarantine has been reinstated. 

With around 3,000 odd 'Generals'; all with their own dumb idea's, we could get different stories for the next 2,999 days.  Stand by for today's episode !

Totally misinformed. But then so many deniers on the forum. I agree most of the time no problem. My parents my brother his wife and daughter all caught it. All vaccinated. Brother had all kinds of underlying diseases my parents too and aging. None of them had serious problems. But his wife strong never sick had it bad. Could stay at home but far worse then a cold. All of them lost part of their stamina. My brothers wife also has problems focusing on stuff. 

 

Its not something you want to get especially as its unpredictable, the one we thought would not have any problems had it worst and is still not recovered (and yes omicron). So if that is what a flue does then i probably never had a flue. 

 

Totally unexpected that the stronest had the most problem and even now problems of total loss of stamina and attention span.
