Thailand’s self-proclaimed pro-democracy movement has experienced another crack in their ranks, after key Pheu Thai supporter “Kam Phaka” referred to Move Forward Party’s supporters as “Salim Phase 2”.

Salim is a controversial term used by the anti-establishment movement and its supporters to describe people who support the establishment, particularly the military and the monarchy. It is the also the name of a Thai dessert, the very colourful appearance of which reflects how pro-establishment groups have been campaigning using different colours over the years.

On Sunday night a set of infographics were posted on the Facebook page of CARE, a think tank linked to Pheu Thai Party, explaining the Thai political epithet ‘Salim’ and what it means to be ‘Salim Phase 2’.

What type of Democracy are they looking to attain?

Its good that some reds are moving away from their leadership, but moving forward is much more progressive and attacking them in baseless.
Reds are moving away from pro-democracy movement in order to position themselves yet before the general election as the ruling party in coalition with the present ruling party.
non of them were ever principled

Where in the West is democracy practiced ?

They practice corporatocracy and "call" it democracy

Keeps the 'Great Unwashed' in line, dumb and happy (relatively)

Thai politics....  I have no interest.  The Pheu Thai Party is made up of a bunch of bullies who did a lot of good in the late, late 90's and early 2000's and then they got greedy.  The only thing good now is the protesters can't build stages in the middle of intersections, shut down traffic on major roads, trash and close airports or call for the burning of the shopping centers. (I think that covered both camps pretty well).
