Daily News Thai Caption: 10,000 baht reward

Daily News reported this morning that a Portuguese woman living in Patong, Phuket, had gone online to offer a reward for the return of her prized silkie chicken.

Marion Fernandez reported in Thai and English that someone had stolen her adorable pet from an area on Patong Hill near Family Mart between 5 and 7 pm.

She is offering 10,000 baht.

She urged everyone to share.

That they did in great numbers, with well wishers hoping that she would soon be reunited with her cock.

Dead or alive .... 10,000 Baht reward bit over the top,

1000 Baht would have been enough, but then it would

not have gotten in the news. hope she gets it back.

It is very traumatic when a beloved pet is stolen.

I hope the fowl rotter who stole the bird is caught soon.

Must be clucking mad, it's only a chicken for christ sake. Homeless kids need more thought then that, what a fowl piece of self promotion by her.

Ok.  Let's say someone returns the chicken and gets 10k baht.  How long before the chicken is missing again?

some Thai ladies of the second category that have had a late change of heart certainly feel sympathetic for her cause.

Nice looking rack ... yes yes I know how disgustingly sexist of me

I wonder where exactly was the poor bird when it was stolen.

Sorry, I read the OP again, it was in 'an area on Patong Hill'

My brother in law used to operate a cock fighting farm. Some of those chickens sold for half a million. Crazy.

Barbequed with a side of sticky rice and Som Tam........a lovely meal.  Wonder if they used the feathers to make a nice hat or to stuff a pillow.....asking for my friends Rooster Mr. Crow.

Do other chicken like this exist in Thailand? Someone could make some good money, buying a chicken like this, say, for 3,000 baht, then selling it to her for 10,000 baht. I doubt she'd know the difference.

Yes.  You can buy them here.

I am sure it has been cooked already ????

Might still be available for carry out.

Also wonder if it's possible that some animal nabbed it, but there'd probably be evidence of that in or quite near its pen.

I do hope she gets it back alive and well.
