National – The Thai Ministry of Public Health has joined university researchers to assess Thailand’s response to the Covid-19 situation following World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, expecting to announce the disease as endemic in July.

Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, advisor and spokesman from the Ministry of Public Health, revealed to the press yesterday, March 5th, that the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic in Thailand and around the world is likely to continue to decline. The Ministry then developed a management plan to announce the disease and treat it as endemic.

Their research team also worked with various universities and related agencies to evaluate the country’s current and real response to the Covid-19 situation in national and regional areas under the WHO guidelines.

Patting themselves on their back again. many others would disagree with this statement.

It was expected to gradually improve and would become endemic in early July 2022.

Whilst most of the modern world gets on with life and has made it endemic already. I supposed we should expect a delay in the obvious.

If there were half a million cases per day I reckon it will take about 3 more months if that level is maintained - including the previous Omicron infections.

Half a million cases per day sounds massive but it's not when you consider that most people will have no idea that they're infected at all or think they've got a normal cold.

Of course that all depends on how many cases they've already had which is far higher than they admit or even speculate about.

Junta won’t want that. Gawd forbid they would relinquish total control and suffer the ignominy of the minions protesting.

I've been listening to this misinformation that is worrying people it's wrong but it makes people scared I've had over 2 years of this misinformation  I've had 3 vaccines  and I'm not sick.

in fact the only person i know that was so sick he was in a coma for a month was my mate who chose not to have the Vaccine he was on a ventilator and dialysis when he was discharged he couldn't walk or talk he was lucky 43 years old he regrets not being vaccinated bless him that's how serious people talking rubbish on social media can be

please double check all so called truths I'm still getting people phoning me up saying the vaccines I've had are to control me haha

One household of my Thai family  in Bangkok, has contracted omicron. only one of the children

has so far tested negative.  The rest are happy that they all had their vaccinations,

and are only feeling like it is a bad flu, so far.  Thankfully the rest of the family is bringing them food and other

things that they need, Unfortunately, the workers will not be paid, because some cannot work from their home,

as their jobs are not high tech.  There are some people who still get sick enough that they have to spend time in

a hospital, and it is not cheap for the Thais either. Pandemic or endemic, with the numbers of people still getting

sick, that does affect the work forces in Thailand.  I would feel fortunate if I was an expat with enough finances

that I do not have to work in Thailand or anywhere to survive. My thought for the day.

Government telling the truth.

Never on my watch 5555

they gotta convince the thai public its a endemic first, that will be the hardest problem.

if anyone really believes that the vaccines did not save hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of lives and in fact caused problems for more than a handful of people worldwide then I'm happy not to be in their company. The same people probably believe that the Earth is flat and that the sun revolves around the Earth. It must do surely, as it moves across the sky.

We can discuss until the end of time but back in 2021 the vaccines saved the human race's backside. It's all good to discuss in 2022 that there may be unintended long term effects (I stress "may") but without the vaccines many of us wouldn't be here to talk about it. And the fact that among those still dying of Covid the overwhelming majority are no-vax should mean something.

And MOH just were thinking that soon, 15 Trillion Chinese Billionaires, 11 Billion Indian Trillionaires and 150 Million Russian Ruble Billionaires are buying all empty condos all over Thailand and spend at least each 1 Million Baht on a 2 weeks holiday.

Thailand will enforce public mask wearing for years to come.
As soon as there is no longer a legal mandate, mine's coming off.  The only reason I wear it is to play along to get along.

But they work!

Spray some Bear Spray in a room, put a mask on, step in and take a big breath.  The Bear Spray particles are larger than any SARS virus.  Let us know how the experiment works out.

wouldn't expect anything else out of Anutin's mouth

So basically endemic in this situation means helmets on and masks off.

Very scientific!

A difficulty in a place where , lying, disinformation, misinformation, bribery , nepotism are normalized  and just plain ignorance abound. I cannot recall a leader admitting they lied or were in error lately , a fault not unique to here.

Added to this suppurating barrier is of course the self imposed shackle of trying not to embarrass the oppressors via "Loss of face".

Of course aside from tourism or needs of imported labour the regime, it's not really governing more like crisis management while fooling/robbing the citizens so wants any lever to control dissent movement, Easier to make protest marches illegal than waste more bullets shooting nurse in Bangkok.

I'm sure the vaccine saved many hundreds of thousands of lives around the world when Delta and the previous versions of the virus hit.

Omicron, not so much. We either need a new vaccine or it becomes a cold after wiping out all the vulnerable, or some combination of both.

I suspect it will end up as a combination of both for a while ending in a new 'cold' with some future variant.

The currently circulating incarnations of all the cold viruses (ignoring influenza as that's very different) have all been mutating for centuries, some of them 1000's of years.

There's nothing new, it's all happened before and will all happen again.

"Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health expects Covid-19 to be fully treated as ‘endemic’ by July"

Only four more months of all the restrictions i guess, then it's time to remove the ones that are not making anyone richer anymore and just keep the restrictions that earn the most for the chosen few

If their response has been very good I’d hate to see a bad one, probably amongst the worst on the planet. The country is governed by uneducated moronic halfwits
