See: Alan Turing

The British have an unparalleled record when it comes to persecuting people that saved their bacon, and rewarding those who were total incompetents. See: Douglas Haig.

Chemical Castration  is licenced in more than 20 countries (including the USA) to lower sexual drive in adult men with paraphilias, that is, exhibitionism, frotteurism, voyeurism, fetishism, sadomasochism, sexual masochism, sexual sadism, paedophilia, etc..   Rape is often about dominance rather than sexual gratification  effectiveness of chemical castration is debatable, so these people will often just find another way to dominate women and children when they are released they just molest women and children in other ways. Chemical castration must go hand in hand with psychotherapy since many offenders don't want to stop so the castration does not stop sexual molestation and psychological trauma to future victims. Physical castration has been proven to lower re offending with rape from 50% to 5%.. but there are no figures for molestation. The only way to sort out paedophiles and rapists is to put them out of their (and our) misery by executing them.

It is the difference between sexy and 5 cm too short or too naked

We were born naked. And if you would dare to visit a naturist's camp you would realize how easy it is to live naked together.

However if you're a member or follower of Puritans or got a strange education you might have difficulties.

And so the problem is still in your head.

No, but the death penalty will.

Why is the death penalty implemented for drug dealers but not sex offenders?

Totally backwards.

As far as I know the death penalty hasn't been used for some time although some are sentenced to death. I don't know if that includes sex offenders as well. Probably if there is murder involved as well.

Cuz let's be honest. Their urge is not to solve a personal or societal problem. Their urge is to shoot and kill someone.

I always think that when prisoners attack paedophiles.  Like they're OK because their crime didn't involve children.  If someone had seriously hurt me or stole something worth a lot of money from me, I'm not sure I'd particularly like the idea of them feeling somehow proud of themselves for beating up or killing a paedophile, as though what they did to me was OK and did not warrant a beating.

My head is perfect normal and I com from a very liberal country...I have nothing against nude and I have no difficulties whatsoever. However I know the difference between sexy and whorish, but apparently you don't.. A  woman in sexy clothing is much more beautiful than in a too short skirt with a open belly and too low top. You can have a diffeent opinon I don't care  it says more about your bad taste and way of thinking...probably you miss something in your life. I have some dignity and I won't show or don't want that my wif /gf shows too much to other people.. for that you can go to the red light districts.

They should legalize porn... Many men would watch and get rid of their hornyness, but everything in THailand must be blurred and porn is forbidden. Just like in the Victorian age. Now if men want to get rid of their needs and they don't have money to pay for it the grab what they can get..It is not only their fault., but of the policy of the Government and education

Although it may be illegals, porn in Thailand is rather easy to obtain , its all over the internet and everyone has access to the internet and porn

Ouch, was it hurting?? Don't worry, there are more uptight or prudish people around. Calling nude females "whorish" says enough about you.

From the Washington Post article posted earlier:

The penis is left intact. Men who are castrated often are still able to have an erection and may be capable of intercourse. Their sex drive is diminished because the testicles are no longer present to produce testosterone. But the drive is not eliminated.

Wrong on so many levels but maybe its just me.

Can you please educate us on the difference between sexy and whorish?

There are still a lot of people living in the dark ages.

Nothing to do with where you came from but all to do with where you are standing in life.

Yes i have seen that article and others like that before.

Imo there are other ways to stop them from re-offending.

Do you support law enactment of life sentences - without release - for those convicted of child sex offences?

Pedophilia is considered incurable, hardwired into the brain. Thus need to be permanently separated from society. Other than a life sentence under close supervision perhaps a remote "devils island" where these monsters can exist with no chance of ever encountering another pre-pubescent victim for the remainder of  natural life.

What really concerns me about chemical castration or the death penalty for that matter is "have they got the right offender? because if they haven't, well use your own imagination. Over the years there have been an unbelieveable amount of people, primarily jailed for offences they never committed and many even put to death, and we have seen how that works in Thailand haven't we.

Castration is not necessarily effective in treating sex offenders.   Many offenders do so for reasons other than sexual gratification and that does not change with castration, chemical or otherwise.

Rapists are generally motivated by power dynamics.   Child molesters are emotionally stunted and tend toward children.  Castration doesn't change those dynamics.

If the goal is to protect women and children, castration does not provide that guarantee.  Here's a link to article about a man who wants to be castrated rather than stand trial:

Does Castration Stop Sex Crimes?

Agreed, and I'd add evil as the main another reason why people perpetrate these terrible crimes. Terms like power dynamics and emotional stuntedness are rather mild and implies that nobody is at fault.
