Countries as good as Thailand for single men

Featured Replies

Hi, I probably have to avoid Thailand because of my divorce, is there any similar countries as good as Thailand for single men?

Maybe his ex-wife is an immigration officer.

Why would being divorced be a barrier to coming to Thailand?

Maybe his ex-wife is an immigration officer.

I am struggling to recall the last time that I benefitted from anonymous advice from strangers.

But back in the day, I worked in Middlesbrough.

Mickey  D says to me "Cowboy, you've been to America; where would you recommend?"

"Aye, well, Mickey, the best night out I had was in Albuquerque, but..."

"That's all I need to know"
I went back to Middlesbrough some years later, and we met up again.

"Yefookinbastart" and if I had not been so nimble at backing off we'd have come to blows.
"Ah went t'Albaqurque, and Ah've neva' bin so bored so quickly"

And I could see how that could happen, and how it might have been avoided if he'dpaused to listen to the whole story.

You are not strangers, and their experience may not be relevant to you.
Times may differ, and what has happened in the past may not be the same as your experience in the future.

If you are looking for information, ask specific questions, not recommendations.

If you are looking for advice, then you deserve all you get.

Do not discuss specifics of Prostitution here.

Fail to see why a relationship issue would discard and entire country, place or province possibly.

Agree, but would add better down south in Vietnam.

But this was before COVID, no idea what it's like now.

Basically, any country without welfare is good for single men.

Also agree with CharlieH, no need to avoid Thailand, just change towns.

Odd, I get good advice from anonymous strangers all the time.

What's the best cream for this rash .....

How do I build this battery bank with Lifepo4s ..........

What documentation do I need for a VISA to country xxx ...........

Where can I buy Marmite ............

I nearly always get good answers.

You can meet women anywhere.  It depends what you are looking for.  And the type of person you are

If he’s retired and wants freedom to travel the country without relying on public transport, forget Vietnam, he’s not allowed to own a car.

I wouldn't dare drive a car in Saigon.

Agree. Hence why I mentioned travelling around the country  as opposed to around cities.

I made another topic regarding this issue, we are still married and she let me take the kids back to France but I heard that she could still file a complain for kidnapping and I could get jailed if I come to Thailand. She made a letter for me to pass the immigration and video call them to authorize me to leave but Thailand being Thailand she could still file a complain.

That's why for my future happy destination place I maybe should avoid Thailand.

Only locals can own cars? I didn't know that.

Quite a few countries far better than TH for "active bachelors" in my opinion. Like Brazil and Colombia. I'd be living there now if they didn't tax my pension.

Many other countries are better than TH in that respect too but have so poor an infrastructure that you wouldn't want to live there long.

By the sounds of things you are looking at long term residence. The first thing that you need to do is work out what part of the world you want to live in then check the immigration laws for all the countries in that area to see if you qualify for a long term visa. A friend of mine was in Vietnam on a short term tourist visa and he returned to Thailand and he decided to move to Vietnam on a long term visa but while he was making up his mind Vietnam changed their immigration laws and he could not get a long term visa anymore.

Brazil, Paris 1919, Berlin, Rome 1945, Saigon 1968-74.

If you lived through Thailand in the '90's you are one of history's lucky bunnies.

What about the kids happiness and future? Are you going to deny these children their right to access to their mother? If that is what your intensions are then I hope she does file a complaint and make it an Interpol case so that you can be arrested wherever you are. You are a selfish arrogant person who does not care about what the children may want, you are only caring about yourself and finding a place where YOU are safe and happy.

Someone posted a reply saying (I think, they've quickly deleted it) that foreigners can get a driving license the same way as in Thailand. Of course that doesn't mean they're allowed to own a car, so the question stands.

I am the most hansum…….5 billion women everywhere want me.  I’m rich, very.

friend is 130 cm and 20 stones or very fat with 20 baht after he sells his blood.

of course not same same……. Not same same but different.  Not same and different.

I drive a Ferrari….that helps.    Buy one in every country

Repeat ….   Retired foreigners cannot own a car there.
