Even the Thai start to see the problem

How long will policy makers hold onto these insane measures? Where Covid no longer plays a significant role in other countries, the economy is strangled here by obstinacy. Good to see that Thai travelers are now also expressing themselves about this madness via SM.

since phuket sandbox 1st june 2021 anybody vaxed can come at a minimal cost of some 4500b for a week hotel stay, some insurance (sometimes coming free with airfare), and 1-3 pcr tests for some $70 each.

that's small expense and a week on the beach doesn't have to be a hassle.

each country is different and it's difficult to compare, many variables come into consideration (including, that countries with harsh entry restrictions might attract those, who don't want to get covid - for example elderly, not vaxed, with compromised immune system, with underlying conditions).

so what for you is insane, for the other is rational and desired.

there are travellers who do visit thailand monthly.

there are those who came and don't want to go back to their problematic countries.

A few tourists taking, probably unknowingly, the risk to be forced to spend their vacation at their cost without symptoms in a hospital will not make tourism rebound in Thailand. I fully understood the restrictions as long as Covid infections were brought to Thailand with its low local infection rates. With Omricon, local infections are the driver and accepting triple vaccinated travellers with pre-flight tests but no restrictions in Thailand should not be a real risk driver anymore.

no, not tourists travelling monthly, but many other groups - for family reasons, for work, businessmen, traders, working nomads. They take very small, calculated risk. With recovery certificate this risk is zero.

For asymptomatic positives there are hospitels. Since 15.02 definitely not hospitals

Whom do you ask that?

You think there is a clairvoyant here? ????

You're asking this question on this forum.

Not sure if policy makers are members here or

are you looking for negative, doomed, glass half empty comments?

Which Thais, who?

Country is basically fully open, yet some still continue to complain, posting an article about a single Thai YouTuber complaining about Test&Go. All this with a clickbaity thread title falsely implying it's the whole population of Thailand that is complaining about Test&Go.

PCR test was cancelled, Test&Go is a nuisance, but it's not the draconian "insane measure" you make it out to be. And it'll be eventually cancelled as well.

Complaining about it on an expat forum doesn't do anything either.

People like to vent and it's better to complain on a forum than to go in the pub and drone on to some unfortunate that was unlucky enough to sit next to one.

At least on here, none of us need to read any of the posts.

It'd be better off if he were talking about this in a pub, and the guy next to him just walked off. According to the forum platform, 1,600 people read the man's drivel, to then realize it was drivel.
