Eliminate this requirement completely, and (more) people may actually decide to travel to Thailand.

My prediction. The next step is they will drop the insurance thing. The vaccine proof will remain. Not sure about the Pass. The vaccine part can be handled without the pass. T

RIP bars in Thailand.  Restobars only please ????

Like that is the worst you can imagine .... come on , who cares that they sell a few items to eat , in fact might save some people some time and stay in the bar

Will update 1 may.  Some still will come before.

So what if you fly into Thailand say May 3?

I assume if you already have a Thailand pass for after May first you will not need another one? Better cancel hotel and hope they refund, minus the admin fees.

Why only fully vaccinated travelers?!!

International data shows that vaccinated people have even MORE infections and land more often in ICU's than unvaccinated (look at the data from DE, UK, NZ, AU,...) by now! (by the way, just as the so-called 'conspiracy theorists' warned from the beginning - it's most likely from a damage immune system)!

This doesn't make any sense, sorry.

You are a joke .... and better take care you take the right flight or you fall of the flat earth .

Thats why it was always better to book the hotel with Agoda which had ‘easy cancel’ and then we can cancel for any reason (up to 3 days before travel).

Some hotels have been good with refunds in the past (when day 5 T&G was abolished), others were not very good about the refund at all.

When the government change their policy with 10 days notice I don’t want the hassle of chasing refunds - Agoda has always been very good about this.

Thank you for posting this...

I think it is important for everyone to know and understand that there are some completely bat-s#!t crazy people out there... they live, walk and now post among us....  :whistling:

Its not difficult is it. Vast majority are vaccinated normally and vast majority carry insurance on trips.

Hardly a problem to upload the 2 documents

Very easy I'd imagine

It must be easy I managed to do it without any help!!!!!!

Great news, and showes the nonsense that TOT has been dishing out. My girlfriend of many many years called me last night and gave me the news. She said two of her family had the virus and it was no more than a bad cold as far as they were concerned.

Very tempting, but think I will fly to the Philippines and fly her over so we can travel together again.

I have lost all respect for the Thai government and their rip off's.

My plans are to never spend another dime in Thailand.

Great news, but....

For now it is just a news story in the local press

Don't make your plans based on a local news story

Until it is published in the Royal Gazette, it is NOT real

...and even then, TIT, expect another Flip/Flop

unvaccinated people are more infectious than vaccinated people

Well, at least you acknowledge the fact that vaccinated people are infectious.

And therefore all should be treated in the same way.

With 1 difference , chances of being hospitalized is much higher for unvaccinated . This should mean that their insurance policy should be higher .

That's me sorted now then!

Well pleased.

Out with Qatar on April 24th and back to Bangkok on May 9th.

Just cancelled my test and go hotel and I have booked a late morning flight straight up to Roi Et.

This will really take unnecessary stress out of the equation.

Quarantine is to "prevent" infecting others. It has nothing to do with being hospitalized.

IMO, 1 of the major issues with COVID is the change of perception. There are so many infectious diseases in the world, but prior to around February 2020 no one walked around the street suspecting all surrounding people as sick and potentially infectious. But now, people are looking at others around them as potential killers. And THAT IS WRONG!

If you cancel your hotel , do you need a new Thai Pass ?

I don't believe so. I am not getting one.

I see no reason to apply again. I have my vaccination docs and insurance which I will take with me.

THX ,

I will wait a few days , 1st see the official announcement and the rules . If so i cancel my hotel also , just keep all the paperwork .

I guess it doesn't matter if it's "endemic" or not eh?  555. Great news!  Now I have the option to travel to Thailand and actually relax.   ในที่สุดนะ

I'm sure you are very smart sir, so you were obviously mentally occupied with many other things than to look at excess mortality statistics of the leading vax countries, the correlation of vaccination rates and Covi infections, the explosion of coronary issues, blood clots, and neurological damage, notable increase in death births, who is the main clientele in ICU stations (often enough not a single unvaccinated person) etc.

I take it you were lucky not having to experience lasting damage, but ask a bit around, and you will not have trouble finding patients.

You should learn how to read statistics first before posting fake news

Little math problem for you.

90% of a population (=100%) are vaccinated; 4 of them are in the ICU.

10% of the population are unvaccinated; 2 of them are in the ICU.

Calculate:

a.) How many unvaccinated people would be in the ICU if 90% of the population were unvaccinated?

b.) How many vaccinated people would be in the ICU if only 10% of the population were vaccinated?

I am not sure he can understand your clear explanation ????

Waiting for the 2 remaining parts to address:

1. What is the use of an insurance policy that stopped to cover asymptomatic covid patience, so you are really on your own with your private hospital bill

2. Zero talk about this silly mask wearing everywhere policy; to ease  least outdoors

The vaccine part can be handled without the pass.

The pass if kept would be a burden particularly for quickie land border crossings.

I think it really should be scrapped entirely.

. Myself and many, many friends and their children are unvaccinated, we have all had Omicron, mainly caught from the kids bringing it home from school, all off us breezed through it, the kids hardly a snivel and no one is sick or reinfected.

However the worst affected was my Thai wife and my friends Thai wife, both forced to be fully vaxxed with 2 doses of Pfizer or loose their jobs, both of them spent over a week in bed while the rest of us hardly a snivel.

I told my Dr this she was not surprised, she said she was concerned about myocarditis in children at present.

Wow.

Big surprise, i was thinking july or june at best.

CONGRATULATIONS !

I'll be back ????

Way to see the negative in a positive thing, the perfect TVF response!!

So you think they should not relax the restrictions just so those people who are arriving in the next 7-8 days don't feel bad?

Well, duh!  YES, if only they knew what common sense meant.  Bus, as any scammer would do, they don't care about people who fell into the trap.  Now, they need new suckers...
