And you want to know why law abiding citizens need guns. God Bless America.... Can you find anything similar for developed nations with gun controls, eg Canada, the UK, anywhere in the EU…… ? Yes, and mass murderers in the US have a predilection for using guns to commit their murders and a particular type of gun. Mass murderers don’t tend to use ‘set squares’, ‘G-clamps’ or ‘pop riveters’. Come to think of it when was the last time you heard of a ‘Drive by chiseling’?
coolcarer
A killer wants to go out and murder as many people as he can in 5e shortest time that he can. his weapon of a choice, a gun. With that he can murder dozens of people from any distance without even getting a drop of blood on himself. Or he could decide on a knife, stab a handful at the most who would likely survive and of course he would be caught and imprisoned. If you were a killer which would you chose? Take away the gun and you will have less opportunity to kill and more likely hood of being caught. 1

Why are nations afraid Russia will use nuclear weapons in Ukraine? It's still the same enemy? It's because those weapons kill more people more easily and more effectively and that's precisely the argument presented by posters trying to convince you that there's a difference between an AR 15 and a BB gun but you refuse to even acknowledge the point. There's the point Some tools in peoples hand can kill more than others but it still a fact that the Tool don't kill only people do. 1

You are well out there on the fringes of the ‘spectrum’..... Yes.. that spectrum... ....everyone knows what you mean... es, a trigger doesn’t pull itself... we get that... ...........it's just such a galactically stupid point that its outside the realms of intelligent discussion.... Without the automatic weapon in the first place the mass murder is far less likely to happen. Now the Mark Twain quote springs to mind....”Never Argue with.... ...... The sole reason he was there was because of racial animus. At the time, the "crossing of state lines" was held in such importance, that is sounded like he illegally went to another Country with the sole purpose of fighting , he crossed the border to get to the fight , in reality , his house and the town center were either side of a state border and the fact that he crossed it, was rather irrelevant

IMO, all guns should be removed from everyone and everywhere , even the Police , Just have the Army with guns and no one else .

I’m not for removing all guns, but I do believe gun ownership should be licensed and controlled and that predictors of gun violence should be used to determine who doesn’t get a gun. eg any history of violence, including domestic violence, any behavior relating to threatening others with weapons, any felony that resulted in prison time, any history of mental illness that is associated with a risk of violence. And absolutely limit gun ownership to above 21 years old.

I used to own guns for shooting game for the kitchen pot, lots of people do. There are whole areas of the US in which hunting with a rifle provides the majority of meat consumed by very many families. Hunting for food is an age old custom, it’s a thing.
