Pattaya "busy" after bars and clubs allowed to reopen yesterday - many Indians spotted

Thai media Siam Rath said that pubs and clubs in Pattaya were starting to get busy again after yesterday's reopening by the government.

 

But they said that building materials left lying about and construction sites were presenting obstacles to customers and spoiling the image of the resort.

 

Places have been allowed to reopen officially in 17 provinces and special areas in 14 provinces.

Customers, staff singers and musicians have to show proof of vaccination and staff have to have ATK tests every seven days or if they are at risk of Covid.

 

In Pattaya's Walking Street that the media called an important area for Pattaya they said that 60% of establishments had been closed down in the pandemic but many were now returning to business.

In Soi 6 - popular with foreigners - it was similar and quite busy. 

 

They reckoned 50% of bars and clubs in Walking Street were now open. 

 

They remarked on the number of Indian tourists swelling the ranks of Thais and other nationalities.

But they noted much of the street was still a mess after incomplete work by the local authority and electrical authority to bury cables. 

 

They published pictures of bricks and sand lying about saying that it looked bad and was preventing some businesses from operating properly. 

 

They had a picture of tourist police and other officials and volunteers saluting outside 7-Eleven as they prepared to make sure everyone was following the rules.

A picture is worth a 1,000 words isn't it and those photos show just how quiet it truly is . Maybe some of beach road etc would have been better than Walking Street still under repair .

I suppose a small payment to someone to move them there bricks and piles of sand to the front of the next door establishment  could be made.

Figure good 6 months for Pattaya to go back to more or less what it used to be, it's all depend on the ladies how soon, how many and the quality when and if thy'll be they'll be back...

That is how Pattaya is supposed to look I thought. If you go back in history to any period, it has always been that way and always will in future.

Come anyway.  Walking street is a mess but who cares?

 

You have beer bars all over Pattaya and Jomtien including Beach roads in Pattaya and Jomtien, Soi 6 Pattaya, 2nd road Pattaya, Soi Buakhao Pattaya, and Tree Town on Soi Buakhao.  There are easy to get to and less expensive go-go bars in LK Metro on Soi Buakhao close to Tree Town and at least one go-go in Jomtien.  Then there are the gentlemen's clubs, ranging from outrageously expensive fancy new ones to older ones with pre-covid prices.

 

If you can't have fun in Pattaya today then you don't know how to have fun.

Spent 10 hours in pattaya today 7-5. Have to say it appears to be pretty deserted - if you discountes the ex-pats that frequent the same bars and restaurants. Yes, few Indians outside some hotels, but nowhere near the exploited tourism figures they are giving out

Goodness, gracious, me.

 

Vietnam has dropped every Covid restriction. So I'm going there instead. You can't rely on Thai authorities when you see they are still hysterical at this stage of the game.
