I bought a supposed waterproof watch for swimming on lazada for about 100 baht...They said the digital watch was waterproof down to 40 meters (yes folks 40 meters)..

So I decided to give it a easy  test swim.....Within 30 seconds the watch was waterlogged and ruined......I have seen deceptive advertising before, but this has to win first prize....

 

I am not going to bother with the return over 100  baht.......But this has to be the biggest rip off  of anything I ever bought...... And most of the reviews were good too....Only a few bad reviews, Thais don't like leaving bad reviews no matter how bad the product......Buyer Beware...

Bought a very 'powerful' handheld, cordless vacuum cleaner from Lazada..............it can just, if you are patient, pick up a small black fly as long as the fly stays still.

Maybe it was meant, that the water what is in the clock, does not run out ... ????

 

The ripoff is here that people keep buying something for 100 baht that can never offer that properly and wasting resources in the process. Quality cost money and pay peanuts get monkeys.

In Thailand they are allowed to say anything they like to sell the product ...... 

they can lie through their teeth with impunity,   

however,  if the buyer even so much as mentions the company he can face a defamation lawsuit.

Again nonsense, almost anything comes from China. This is about buying the lowest end and range of products, knowing it is to good to be true, but then still buy it regardless to then whine afterwards. To then repeat the same thing again with another product over time.

Plenty of decent quality from China in non-brands, however you then also notice the average price being quite a bit higher, but still cheaper than branded. Somehow this mid range is the thing that is both underserved on seller and buyer side (people either buy brand or <deleted>).

I bet the seller is making a killing with their 10 baht masterpieces too because they know few people will bother chasing 100 baht.

Along with many of the non-brands, come out of the same factory, with the same specs, or close enough not to be concerned.

 

The OP buys a watch for 100 baht, and expects it to be waterproof? I'd be surprised if it even kept time.

Did it say waterproof--or water resistant ??

 

In another life time I used to sell & maintain Safes for Chubb -- The best selling line was ...and  Yes it's also Fire & drill resistant.

 

So is a piece of cardboard for about 0.5 second........................

On Lazada you find Patek Phillippe for about 12000 Baht.

What a deal compared to the 30000+ EUR/USD/GBP elsewhere ????????

I strive not to buy anything from China, rubbish or not. Yes we all know about the good stuff and that parts are mostly from there ,but thats no excuse not to try and boycott the Nazi like CCP regime built on cheap labour and oppression. Taiwan of course no problem, that's the real China anyway.

Easily overcome now by buying direct online for 80baht .

I am surprised anyone would admit to speding a 100 baht on any such item and expect a different result.

 

 

Well if one thought for 100 baht that the advertised watch had any element of truth in it then all I would say is "it's Lazada in Thailand" . and hence common sense should have entered the frame in your decision process.

In a similar vain I bought a small computer vacuum cleaner.  Now I think it was just a loss leader for something else as it cost 80 baht because it could not suck anyway but the noise level meant you had to buy some ear defenders, which I assume would have been that "something else" ????

Basic due diligence.

 

1. Has the seller an extremely high (95%+) rating? (Is it a LazPick, for example)

 

2. Are any reviews bot-like or do they seem genuine? (please note: many reviewers incompetently give products a default 5 star even on a bad review) 

 

3. Is the seller older than 4 weeks?

 

4. Does the shop have a legit name? (Example bad name: dtingdtong253689642575367)

 

5. Does the product description match the pictures? (the description legally trumps the pictures) 

 

It is almost impossible to get ripped off if you follow these guidelines. 

 

You did not buy a Lazada watch. You bought a watch which happens to be sold via Lazada.

 

If you choose "LazMall" then Lazada themselves guarantee the authenticity of the product.

 

If you are not happy, the return process is extremely easy: walk to a package delivery shop, show them the delivery address on your phone which Lazada provides after you've initiated a complaint, give Lazada a day or two to check the validity of your complaint, receive refund. The seller has no control in the refund process.

You bought a copy Rolex, some of them actually do work quite well. Permit me to doubt you bought the real thing for that money.

The Rolex I bought at PatPong in 1997 for 350 THB still works fine!

Of course it leaked. You removed the water tight plastic wrap it came in.
