Popular Post webfact
Picture: Daily News The Sattahip district chief mobilized a large force of officers on Na Jomtien beach yesterday evening to ensure that the sands, roads and footpaths on a 1 km stretch were free of traders. The traders moved in over the last 2-3 months after the completion of 600 million baht's worth of beach restoration work, reported Daily News. Mostly at night there were traders clogging the beach, roads and footpaths meaning that tourists could not move about freely - according to the law. Picture: Daily News The traders have complained bitterly but been told that they are not welcome here and will be prosecuted if they don't comply. Yesterday evening Acting Major Chartchai Sripho-orn addressed a large contingent on the sands; there were harbor department staff, department of provincial administration officers, Sattahip police, soldiers and municipality officers. Picture: Daily News He took to the mike to speak of the mess and traffic caused by the illegal traders and warning anyone who breaches the order that they will be prosecuted. The beach was a "treasure for the people" noted the media. Picture: Daily News The formerly narrow sands have been completely transformed like over Pratumnak Hill where huge sums have been spent to widen the beach between north and south Pattaya. Different authorities operate there. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-28 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post simon43
The beach looks beautiful, but empty. Where would I go to buy a drink, food etc. When the authorities remade the beach, surely they could have constructed a dedicated strip between the road and the beach for food/drink carts. The vendors would be kept off the beach and those using the beach would have easy access to food and drink. Wait a moment! I'm using common sense here ???? 23 4

Guderian
I don't think I've ever seen so many different uniforms. Are some of these people cleaners at the local cop shop, or staff in the nearest convenience store? Is this ragtag assembly really the best they could come up with? No wonder they get so little respect.
CLW
Once again ridiculous, laughing stock, flip flop, stupid decision. What is wrong with these people in charge? Wasn't it two weeks ago when Aseannow reported this beach food market being touted as a new tourist attraction. With possibilities for local people to make some income. Wonder why people here keep so calm. In other countries they would have chased the officials and burned down the town hall...

What about the rest of the country/city roads and footpaths that are invaded with dirty traders ? people can't even park a car or drive a car in some streets and one can never us a footpath/side walk and run the risk to get mowed down from the incompetent drivers on the road and If one can use the footpath /Sidewalk one does run the risk to get run over by stupid motorbike riders ,moto taxi. Popular Post Bangkok Barry
7 hours ago, scubascuba3 said: Maybe make the road one way, seems overkill to get rid of everyone It is insane to keep Beach Road open in Pattaya. The entire road should be pedestrianised - you know, like they do in many resort areas in other countries, so those elusive tourists don't have to breathe in fumes while risking their life crossing to the beach. Second Road is easily wide enough to be two-way, and non-pedestrian access to the beach area should be limited to delivery vehicles only. But then, Pattaya - and much of Bangkok - doesn't provide walking space for people anywhere and they have to walk in the road with traffic passing within centimetres of them. Car is king. 3 1

But somebody within the upper food chain is definitely sending his henchmen to collect the daily rent from the vendors. And that's the sad part of it.
