For those living outside of Thailand - the Thai language is limited. They have no words to distinguish between "being under the effect of'" alcohol, cannabis, LSD, or even Rohpynol! So to Thai people - who are not at all politically correct - there is no difference between the words used to describe all these different effects. You are acting "mao" ("drunk") in all cases.

Thus in a Thai forum about specifically about Thailand and cannabis in Thailand, it is more appropriate (and more usual) to use the transliterated word "drunk".

But using just the word 'drunk' to describe both very different states of intoxication doesn't really cut it.

I'm not sure if it's technically part of their language but I have heard the natives using the terms 'mao lao' & 'moa ganja', to separate these different conditions, so it certainly is in their vocabulary.

I think "Drunk" is originally a slang word in english, specifically used  for intoxication by alcohol, its origin is pretty self explanatory as alcohol is normally ingested by "drinking"   The Thai word "mao" is a bit broader in its meaning, it equates to intoxication in general, and  not necessarily by "alcohol"    It is also used when describing  sea sickness  and car sickness  even dizziness / lightheadedness etc  so i reckon it just equates to "feeling a bit out of it"

Normally the context in which it is used is enough to clarify what it means, so just saying "Mao" is enough but if its not obvious they will add another word to clarify when needed  "Mao lao"   drunk   "Mao gancha"  stoned    "Mao yah"  drugged up, often but not specifically, refers to  intoxication with  yah bah or yah E  there's aso "Mao rot" car sick "Mao reua" seasick (literally boat sick)   and lets not forget "Mao "rak"  love sick  (kunt struck  or cock happy)depending on gender / sexual orientation

I've heard Thais referring to being "yellow"  and they do actually turn a bit yellow when having a "whitey" but as its difficult to get any sense out of them in that condition I've never found out for sure if it means a whitey or just being "twatted" like I am at the moment

 

Incidentally, the British Army has hundreds of words for being drunk on alcohol.

14 g for around 2200, which I don't think is bad considering brick weed makes me throw up after a few hits.

 

I'll post what they're like in case anyone wants to try them. Should be delivered in a few days.

My 'friend' has been buying brick for years 3,000 for 100 grams its what has always been smoked here since forever, yes it may have insectiside for that extra buzz ???? but then almost all vegies here have been sprayed.

3K a kilo ? that sounds like cr@p my 'friend' will continue with what he knows at 3k 100grams, it lasts 'him' more than 6 months he only smokes in the evening not all day, and is only 10min away from home.

I have no intension of keeping a kilo or dealing it, i don't understand your point at 30 baht a gram are you saying you pay 3b a gram online so you can buy 100gram for 300 baht  online

At the silly 'store' prices, you may want to consider going to Facebook marketplace and line vendors, considerably less expensive.

 

350 a gram is not cheap it's simply cheaper.
