Dr. Nicha said that, before the launch of JWST last year, NASA offered opportunities for astronomers worldwide to propose what they would like the JWST to study either as Principle Investigator or Early Release Science, adding that she chose the latter.

And she was chosen because she was photogenic.

The full article says she studied for her qualifications in the USA after Thai High School. Thailand has nothing like the facilities to offer for such study. I congratulate her for personally embarking and achieving such an undertaking. I doubt if there is much interest in following her footsteps by other native Thais though.

Well done her. One would hope for more science breakthroughs by Thai scientists but understandably  there is a shortage of scientific technology here, forcing many to go to Europe and America. Maybe the media could focus now and then on Thai scientists who have been acknowledged by the global science community. There must be some scientists doing research here for goodness sake.

It would probably be more accurate to say they discovered the farthest galaxy away from us at this time.

There are most likely many more galaxies beyond our current detection range.

Well done on finding something so seriously wrong and worthy of criticism as that.

What the OP reported was factually accurate (obviously at this time) while your critique was based on "probables" and "most likelies" and contained no verifiable facts.
