So much could be said about this. For me, it is all about attitude. And proper gratitude. It comes and goes, for me. Positivity is a quality that has to be nurtured and cultivated. It is NOT the natural state of the human mind.

It is definitely not about money. Money helps. But, it can also hinder. It is only a tool.

The  Buddhists say the opposite, that you're good at heart but that goodness is buried under a pile of defilements.

Exactly the same thing. Becoming negative by enduring the human condition does not imply we are bad people. We are simply lost souls. By rejecting that which comes naturally, we are able to rise above it.

One key to happiness may be not feeling the need to come on to a website like this to explain why you are happy.

And George S. Kaufman, whose wife I referenced early on, wrote a lot of the musical screenplays for the Marx Brothers.

Not really. If you are a miserable fart then you will find lots of faults even in the right person.

Just look in this forum...

Or in the mirror!!

No I mean laws that apply to everyone, you included.

Laws never apply to everyone.

Those laws I don't like, I ignore.

Shows your character which is nothing to be commended.

Most laws are for idiots, their own protection since they lack common sense.

Other laws, regulations, rules, are simply to control people, and keep them in their place, or lowly station in life.

From your attitude you must be the biggest of them all.

Which laws? Powerful people do almost anything

Because some think they are above the law doesn't mean everyone has to demonstrate the same degree or arrogance.

In fear and dread if you life in Burma and North Korea - that's not happiness.

Did anyone say it was? Maybe you have had one too many and are having dreams.

I'm sorry I don't understand what your point is. I am awake not dreaming and I am sober.

I was responding  to the comments about state enforced laws and relationship to happiness.

Works well unless you live in North Korea or Burma.

Maybe and maybe not. Depends on how you live your life.

To which I responded:

In fear and dread if you life in Burma and North Korea - that's not happiness.

Thus the laws of the state rarely promote happiness with North Korea, Burma being examples.

Happiness is all about attitude and expectations.

Some people will never be any where close to happy because of their

entitlement and upbringing.

Maybe happiness is over rated any ways,no one can be happy all of the time.

Maybe be satisfied with what you have is as close to happiness as you

will ever get.

People who for ever are pointing out what their rights are, are far removed from happiness.

Comparing yourself to people who have more then you is a sure way to be unhappy.

Maybe Anutin is onto something?lol.

They are both  Asian  nations with shared commonality and this forum is inhabited  by people of many nations who bring their experiences to bare. Comparative analysis is standard way of gaining insight into situations. Its the concept  of 'context'. You are not a policeman or moderator on this forum.
