every day i read the papers and i think the world is getting crazier and crazier ,from the fact some people think there are over 100 genders,to men becoming women and competing in their sports ,and some people saying they are not a man or a woman ,but change sex every day "non binery"?

what is even crazier is that companys go along with it as they are afraid of being cancelled.

anyway what are your thoughts?

I agree with you.. it has gone mad, and anyone who raises their hand to say so (or worse still, tries to act like it's 10+ years ago) is ostracized! It's a little bit like a certain religion and other thigs that I can't mention purely because of this... 

Things are getting out of hand, and many people are following the FASHION of identifying as something they're not, and anyone who disagrees is wrong/evil.

Free speech means that you allow others to express their views, however abhorrent they may be to your views.

 

I don't agree with 100 genders.  But I agree that people have the right to identify as a non-binary, or packet of cornflakes in aisle #9 or whatever. The vast majority think they are as nutty as a fruit-cake, but they have every right to be nutty....

I see that they are closing down the NHS gender clinic ,where young people changed their gender ,mainly because such a massive amount of them complained that they wish they had never done it .

 

It doesn't get much woker than this. But I am sure in a year from now it will be worse.

yes Jing ,not obsessed but very very worried ,why is this happening all of a sudden ,what is spuring it along ,? why now ,it was not like this in the not so distant past ,and if you try to have a conversation about it you are shouted down .

And by the way this has nothing to do with a persons sexuality as i have always said ,up to you who you want as a sexual partner,i have a gay cousins,one of each.

strange thing is both were engaged at one time and both split with their fiances.

And we need more people who are willing to say the truth - even if the woke don't like it.

If anybody things people should be able to change their gender everyday or they think men should go to women's toilets of whatever they should be able to express that that is what they like.

And anybody who thinks there is only male or female should also be able to say so.

And anything in between.

Everybody profits when people are free to express their ideas and let other people do the same.

Talk to each other! Don't say the other person is a bigot, nazi, stupid, whatever only because he has another opinion.

And if you think your opinion is the right opinion then convince us with arguments.

To me I draw the line to compete in sport! Sorry are you born male, you can not compete in women sports!

 

And no woman should be forced to take hormones to lower their testosterone because of they are borned that way, it is just plain stupid taking their born natural  genetic advantage away from them. The society getting so twisted and complicated it is Monthly Python material. 

 

What people identify as, is no of my business, but teaching kids about sexes before they even understand what this means, is utterly stupid and wrong, but if a kid start dressing in opposite dresses of what is norm, who cares? It doesn't mean anything before they hit the puberty and need someone to guide them and answer to heir questions if they have any, and that should be parents mission, or someone else than an opinion based teachers who can do as much damage as no information at all.

 

Less stigma is good, and how do we create less stigma should be the question! Not categorize people to much in to smaller and smaller boxes!

Did you read my post?

I write about 3 different opinions and I write that people should talk about it.

I didn't write anywhere which of those opinion I support.

Let me repeat it for you: Talk to each other! Calling someone mad is normally not a good start for a conversation.

I fail to see how any of this is likely to affect you on a day to day basis though and suspect you are watching far too much right-wing media who are making this a political point rather than a health issue and blowing all of it out of proportion. I assume you are a fan of freedom of speach so why not freedom of expression? Everyone has a right to live their life they way they want as long as it doesn't negatively impact on others. If a guy wants to identify as a woman or a woman as a man or simply non-binery, how does that have any bearing on your day-to day life?

 

Stop being 'triggered' by things that don't directly effect you and you won't get this worked up.

When is it become a government responsibility same as church or any belief system it passes a line where it is individual freedom and responsibility, it get forced on all of us! Protect the minorities by common general laws, let individuals live as they want, not regulated by goverment.

Not sure what your point is here. Lots of good things are 'forced' on you; you can't discriminate on colour, gender, sexual orientation and religous beliefs. You can't drink and drive. You have to wear a seat-belt. You can't murder someone. The list goes on.

 

All that's happening now is a VERY maligned minority (much like the gay community in the 70's and 80's) are getting heard and listened to and properly qualified medical professionals are saying what is the best way to handle things. That's all. It's a health issue (which includes mental health) and that's exactly how it should be viewed.

The people the right wing are attacking do not define themselves as woke.

It's impossible to have a balanced discussion about any of this.

Sure some things have gotten out of hand with things like over sensitive students on campus spending all day looking for micro aggressions. But on the other side we see garden variety hatred, bigotry, and demagoguery against various minority groups with transgender people being the most viciously targetted.

In the US now there is a little man from Florida who has an excellent chance of being the next president almost fully based on "anti-woke" demagoguery. Forget about solving real problems such as health care and homelessness. Just inflame the masses with culture wars GARBAGE.
