Just been listening to the U.K news and there was an interview with Rishi Sunak whose Parents came to the U.K from India in the 1960's and hes vying for the job of U.K's Prime Minister and one of the policies he vowed to implement was to be strong on UKs immigration rules and send illegal immigrants to Rwanda .

   I had to laugh really .

Read this thread about a speech from Enoch Powell from the 1960's saying the U.K needs to stop immigration , and one of the descendants of those immigrants is now saying something quite similar ????

Of course Powell was a racist; to suggest otherwise is nonsense.  But then so were the vast majority of people who were born and raised in the dying days of the British Empire, Churchill, Mountbatten among them.  Times change and these days they are, thankfully, much fewer in number and possible genuine racism is now a rarity.

Powell was absolutely not a racist. He talks about uncontrolled immigration. How it generates fear and that fear will manifest itself as resentment against those who settled. It was the same fear that British people have of uncontrolled immigration that lead to Brexit.

 

Before you throw racist or misogynistic rhetoric around listen closely to what people are saying. You may not like what they say about the consequences but they are stating facts not using prejudice in their arguments.

 

Had journalism been to the standard it is today then I'm sure Enoch would have been questioned harder and deeper and then you would be able to see his thinking did not come from a prejudicial viewpoint.

 

And listen to Jordan B Peterson when others try to twist his words into a prejudicial model. How he corrects them to make sure he is simply stating facts that are the conclusion of empirical evidence.

 

 

It is a pity Enoch is not here to correct the overview people have that his words were racist.

 

Jordan Peterson and Enoch Powell both had their areas of expertise. That didn't prevent them from demonstrating their ignorance outside the fields in which they were knowledgeable enough to make valid judgments..

It's a good start to be intellectually brilliant, which he was and nobody can deny his predictions came true. Many cities in the UK  became over run with immigrants and changed the nature of them without the host population ever being asked. The present state of lawlessness is unprecedented and it's almost always foreign names as the guilty. Added to that the burden of immigration on housing, schools, NHS and social care is unsustainable, blaming the government for not building enough houses etc is to ignore the obvious. Yet still they come, even on boats escorted by the RNLI, people paying 4-10k are not poor or asylum seekers but the betrayed UK taxpayer has to fork out for these illegals to be put up in 3 star accommodation and looked after forever, just because they are better off leeching off Brits than they would have been back home. Powell was right when he said we must be mad, literally mad.
