Popular Post webfact Posted September 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2022 Missing in Thailand! Tim Pösel landed in Thailand on August 16, 2022. He had the last contact with his family in Germany on August 20th when he texted with his mom on IG messenger. His whereabout/the domestic location in Thailand since the 20th August (Bangkok) untill NOW (13.9.2022) ARE UNCLEAR. No location is known. HE COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THAILAND. Popular Post Skallywag Posted September 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2022 He is 24, not a kid. Need some clarification. Does he normally IG his mom? That seems odd, why not text or just call. Did he buy a Thai sim card or use someone else's phone to IG his mom.? Maybe he wants to go off grid for a month? Has the mother contacted his friends where she is? Can his bank check his ATM withdrawals? I remember my first trips to Thailand in the 90's. No calls, no mobile phones, no internet really available. Sent a few post cards, most did not arrive until I got back a month later. If he is "missing" hope someone has seen him and reports back! 20 2 3

Kids weren't all woke and useless back then and not scared of a bit of dirt or a gecko climbing the wall and we certainly didn't need a "safe place". If I were 24 I'd go off grid too if I had the money. He's been gone 3 weeks, hardly a lifetime to cover the South Andaman is it. Has his bank been used, does he have money, is he alright in the head etc. ? Shacked up with some Thai bird getting <deleted> / stoned is my bet and perhaps exactly what he should be doing, not checking in with mama as a grown man. 14 2 1 1

Popular Post 0815 Posted September 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2022 On my second holidays in Thailand I met a girl in Hua Hin and was off to her village in the North for a month. Didn't even think about somebody could be missing me. Back home after 2 months my parents welcomed me with: Ah, you are still alive. Looks like you had a good time as you didn't call us a single time. OK, this was 25 years ago ... 13 3 1
Popular Post ed strong Posted September 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2022 Hopefully he will be found, with all the ways of getting in contatc these days, it would be hard not to be able to. I had a guy i knew go missing in Thailand for about a month. He was a mate of a mate but had met him as he wanted to hear about Thailand. He went to pattaya, met a teacher and then went back to Surin with her to her families place, at first he was sleeping with her but also with her 3 kids. Then after 1 day contact dissapeared and then nothing for the next 4 weeks but his whatsapp was being used but no replies to us, also approx £200 was being removed from his account every day. He finally showed up back in UK, very pale and not exactly transparent about what happened. Basically he was held hostage whilst they nicked all his money, when the money stopped they let him go. 5 1
Popular Post DualSportBiker Posted September 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2022 I moved here aged 22 - had my moments! Still here and I have all my fingers and toes despite riding here! I don't get the 'when I was 24' comments. Times have changed, the ease of instant communications embeds expectations. If one interacts with a 24 year old child via social media daily or every couple of days then that stops. Who wouldn't be concerned? More so when that kid is in a country with a justifiable reputation for large numbers of accidents with, and deaths of tourists. I wrote to my parents less than once a month when I first lived here, I think we spoke by phone 4-5 times a year. Then, when my parents got on Skype, we chatted weekly. We all felt an uneasiness if we had not chatted in three weeks - we never felt any concern when there was a two month gap between letters. I hope he is off the grid and having great time. If you are reading this Tim, call your mother! 36 minutes ago, Reigntax said: If I was introduced to Thailand when I was 24, I would still be missing and that would be for a few decades. he will appear when the money runs out!!! 9 1 2

If you are reading this Tim, call your mother! I think thats all very true. Back in the 70/80's I would send my parents a letter telling them how I was doing, a phone call every week or so, but I could go weeks without talking. That was normal. In todays world if I don't hear from my kids within a week and they won't return my calls I'm worried. That is today's normal 4 2
Muzzique Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I wouldn't put my head up if I was him. I'd go underground too. Nice guy like him will be with a few bargirls in a perpetual sex party. selling beads to pay for it.
Mansell Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Back in 1969 I was surfing in Morocco and living on the beach’s. My mother sent my tax return to a Maroc bank. I would visit it weekly, and each time they said there wasn’t any money…..of course they were keeping it to get more interest…..imagine a few thousand accounts like this and the interest would rack up. Eventually I just gave up, and after a few months the money was returned to England. Of course my mother had no idea what was going on and contacted the local newspaper. They wrote an article with the headline, “Local tripper lost in Morocco.” (My American friends thought tripper meant taking LSD.) The article inside explained about the money/bank etc, and said I was in Morocco to improve my surfing style. (My surfing friends laughed at that, and said, “That didn’t work out to well with all your wipeouts.” Of course I didn’t find all this out until three months later. 1 1

riverhigh Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Another question I would be asking is he on meds. Has he a history of mental illness or mental disorders? It is not uncommon in Europe for individuals who are not suitable for travel to be granted a passport based on their human rights. If this is the case then his embassy is morally obligated to get involved and disclose all information. Governsments issuing passports to the mentally ill must be held responsible for their actions. 2

What does this mean exactly? I'm an American and I would consider it a violation of my rights if the government decided where I could and could not go based on their own subjection opinion. I would expect this from North Korea but from Europe??
