Thalang – The Special Service Division Police were called after a policeman who was not on duty was seen carrying a gun and walking around at a private housing estate in Thalang which took nine hours to clear.

Colonel Pisit Chuenpet, the Thalang Police Chief, told the Phuket Express, “Yesterday, (October 10th), we were notified from residents at 8:30 A.M. that a man who was acting erratically was walking around with a gun. He blocked the entrance of a private housing estate with a pickup truck. The man later hid in his house in the housing estate.”

“Special Service Division Officers and the Region 8 Police were called to the scene. At 3:20 P.M. the suspect came out still carrying a gun around the area. It took nine hours before Corporal Korn, 27, who is a Phang Nga Policeman, was able to be arrested. He was found with a handgun loaded with seven bullets and an additional 8 bullets in his pockets,” Colonel Pisit explained.

I know 2 fellas (falangs) who live on the island, live near us, who have ex-military Thai's on their house-staff trained and licensed to own hand guns ... they have the weapons onsite in case any nutter thinks it's mass murder time.

And just how many wear the RTP Uniform ?

I think that just maybe the terrible Incident of a few Days ago will open a Can of Worms on the RTP, and how much they cover up regarding the issues their members obviously have.

It is not an RTP issue.  It is a Thai male issue.

You  are correct, it is a Thai Male issue.

However this one was wearing a Police Uniform

adding a sense of "impunity" to the volatile mix.......

“The suspect was nervous after a recent argument with his girlfriend."

That makes a change. It is usually the other way round.

Jeez, can we see the good, for a change?

The cops did catch the bad guy before he did any damage.

I love Thailand.
