It's not a pointless comment. Realistically peoples votes are strongly influenced by the leader of the political party. If she was in charge at election time I strongly believe the there would be a few less people voting conservative...dont you,? 2

Popular Post champers Posted October 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2022 Suella Braverman, politically just to the right of Gengis Khan, has departed as Home Secretary per BBC. Grant Schapps being touted to replace her. Rats. Sinking. Ship. 3

Effectively Hunt has already replaced er - they now have the home secretary resigned and Chapps from the Rishi camp is in - basically there has been a coup - everything she wanted to do has been reversed and she is being replaced with Rishi's "mainstream" cabinet. She just has the name but none of the functions. the 1922 Committee can replace her immediately if they want - but the truth is the Tories can't form a cabinet or pick a PM - but they don't have to wait, she has already been sidelined on everything she wanted to do. 1

Truss is still currently UK Prime Minister ,but She doesn't seem to have the confidence of the Conservative party and She could very well lose her job on the near future and its possibly that Hunt may take over as PM or even Boris may get the job again . The Conservative party is in turmoil at the moment , but there hasn't been a coup and Truss is till PM (Coup "a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government.")

champers Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 BBC say Grant Schapps was in charge of the spreadsheet that listed those MPs who wanted Truss out.

Incompetent, clueless about policy details and unable to heal the divisions in the party. She spent months promoting her tax cut blah blah blah despite this policy being exposed as unworkable by economists and members of her own party. And when the budget imploded in her face she threw the chancellor, who had argued against some of the proposals in the budget, under the bus to save her own worthless skin. She has been an unmitigated disaster as pm and has given the opposition a real opportunity of overturning a 70 plus majority. Am I enjoying it, no. The turmoil of this inept incompetent’s premiership is hurting the country as a whole and she needs to go. The tories are divided and, it seems, incapable of forming any type of coherent governance while their internal civil war rages on. The reality is they are not fit to govern and the sooner an election occurs the better for everyone. 1 1 1
bendejo Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 While she's not as bad as the US's Sarah Palin she is making the same mistakes: just because someone can manage to get on the ballot or actually obtain a position of authority does not mean they have the wherewithal for the job. By her body language and facial expression these days I think she has figured that out about herself.
