The Banglamung Police, Immigration officers, Public Health Staffers, rescue workers and the Pattaya News arrived at the house in question

So totting up (guesswork only):

seven police (the whole of Pattaya police force) armed with long poles with hoops on (AKA farang-catchers);

four immigration officers laden with nine kilograms of papers from the last year of the Germans stay;

six Public Health staffers with a certificate in artificial respiration (between them);

five employees of the Pattaya News - one reporter and four photographers;

and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Get a grip Bob! He is actually not treated in a too bad way at all. The police instead have patience to wait until his wife arrives and try to help. Would that happen in  USA, UK, Germany, Sweden or any other country= The answer is no!

He gets the treatment he got, and the punishment he will get, because of his own stupidity.

I suspect our resident Brit-hater, Gottfrid is going to be extremely quiet on this thread !!!! ????

Seems he was a horrific neighbour with his dogs chasing kids etc.

They’ll be happy to see the back of him - it must have been horrible living next to this character.

Ooh, Richie, man! I did get up late today. Sorry. I actually hate all foreigner that come to Thailand and behaves like scum. I have nothing against people that can behave themselves, act responsible and respect the country and the people they stay around. So, this guy is a real piece to hate for a week or so. After that it´s bye, bye to wife and house for him. What I have said, as you are hung on that I am a Brit hater, is that they are overrepresented when it comes to making problems and behave like dorks in Thailand. The ones that act like I described above, I have no problem at all with.

Maybe if he did not resist and do stupid things. I mean the guy deserved what he was getting. If you resist and act like an idiot you will be delt with with more violence then when you behave.

Always be good with police and you wont have problems.

Yeah, I know. It´s real drag. However, I do not blame a whole population, just pointing out the bad ones that comes to Thailand as it is a Thailand forum. That´s the difference with you and me Robbie

People who over stay their welcome and resist the police deserve to get court time, then a trip to the airport to

be sent out of the country, if they do not go to jail first. Say Bob you seem to be a newbie with your less than 300 posts,

are you even in Thailand yourself?

(I am Dutch) I was joking around. I had Swedish Neighbors, nice people can't say a bad word about them.

hahahahahaha Dumb Kraut.

Any chance of sorting that overstay and avoiding deportation has now gone.

Hope he enjoys immigration detention whilst awaiting his flight out !!

Seems it was both him and his missus on overstay,

deport both and the frigging Rottweilers.

So what should the police / immigration officers do if he's not cooperating, just walk away?

Overstay is a serious problem in any country.

Overstay was only part of his issues he and his wife caused.

  No one yet has made the suggestion that it may have been her that informed the Police about his overstay

No one who read the link would make that suggestion, she's an overstayer also!

To give the pretense that the Police are doing their job!

You're implying that those police were not doing their job?  How do you come to that conclusion?

13 hours ago, bob smith said:

The German is acting like an animal.  Setting fires, climbing up on the roof of his house. Ordering his dogs to attack. Not following police orders. The police doing there job can and should use as much force to detain him as possible.  I do don't think I would have been as kind as the police were.

Mike, this is a about  German guy in Thailand , its not about anyone in the USA or bout the USA's Police force .

   Its about Thailand , not the USA

Mac, if you were in the USA you'd be labeled a "Germaphobe" and be responsible for the formation of the "German Lives Matter" movement.

Moral of the story, read the link, there's more to it than overstay.

Foreigner behaving like a lunatic. Glad that moron won't be back for a while.

12 hours ago, scorecard said:

Overstay is a serious problem in any country.

Go over in Australia and the search to find you starts immediately and is very serious and they find 99% of overstayers very quickly. There's no 'if it's not convenient now, when should we come back?'

"Overstay is a serious problem in any country." Even in the UK?? Jump on a dinghy, arrive in the UK, get a hotel room, pocket money, and 3 meals a day, all at the taxpayers expense.  People in most cases, do not need to worry about overstaying.

If he was throwing bottles at the police and hit any of them on the head, it could have killed, so how is it heavy handed?
