Maybe they are just dreaming

Dreaming about what ? the odds or England being able to beat Iran ?

Well, for sure nothing is certain in sport.

Odds as of Friday, Nov. 18

Football is an exceedingly boring game, be it called soccer, or by any other name.

If I would wish to waste my time watching a sport, then my first choice would be Buzkashi.

Absolutely, riveting to watch.

Normal odds are like $1.30

Can't imagine watching it. Every four years England fans believe they will again win the cup only to be beaten on penalties by Costa Rica or waiting for Tunisia to draw Germany in order to go forward. The England women’s team have more chance of winning.

Hell, ALL "sports" events are now about show me the money! When the price of a hot dogs and beer for two are about the same as a down payment on a house, it's pretty clear all major sports SHOULD be spelled $port$.

Totally agree.

I suspect trying to get hot dogs and beer (especially) in the soccer stadium in Qatar, is going to be quite difficult?????

So I quote you to-days price @ the site at $1.34, and you write a post just to say its  $1.30

OK you win, & I stop wondering  why I dont post so often on here.

As an avid England fan that gets hopelessly excited every time the euro's or world cup comes round I watch just about every match going. But I have close to zero excitement or interest in this world cup and I am considering boycotting. Maybe I will change my opinion when it gets going I don't know but for now just not really interested - a first for me!

The most entertaining this WC is the restrictions on alchohol, and the Fifa president trying save face because of all the human rights this event as Olympic fail to be a good standard of.

Deleted corruption is what it is! Should have been jailed long time ago.

You are correct. But soccer/football in the UK is much the same I suspect, certainly in the Premier League? How much do these guys get paid?

Far, Far, Far, Too Much. Prima donnas there are actually coached on how to fall to get a free kick or penalty.

Money would be better paid to the nursing staff of hospitals or similar.

The games are late in the evening / at night. I thought you were working?

It's the way the Americans bet-I dont bet, but I see it a lot when I am watching boxing. UFC etc

They tell me it allows for smaller adjustments (odds) to be made either way.

You want to put $100 on =$1 divide it by -290 gives you 0.34 cent x 100 =$34 + your stake. $134

Makes no sense to me. $2 = 50%. $1.50 = 66%. Proper way of looking at odds.

American Odds Explained--Key points

  • Odds are displayed with a plus or minus sign. The numbers are often three digits, but they can go to four or more places.
  • This format is referred to as American odds, while decimal and fractional odds are the standard elsewhere.
  • Bettors can determine the favorite or underdog based on the direction or value of the numbers.

Appropriately known as American odds, these are the three-digit numbers that are part of any standard bet listing, such as -110 or +105. Here’s a detailed look at how they work and everything else you need to know

This debate is between those who played football in the street as kids, and those who didn't. Simple as that.

Or at school????

I'm a rugby guy but...

I think it is the same for enjoyment of watching any sport???? More out of it if you have done it yourself.
