They have had very nasty first hand experiences with butthead farangs. I no have problems with thai people Pay respect, give kindness, accept the way of their mind, I am helpful, they give back me all. Yesterday I was stranded in the city center, át evening. The last songthaw has gone. I ask a motorcycle taxi man, how much the fare to the outskirt? 150, I ask softly, 120? He laughed, khun! the last red light junction is 10 kilometres from here, and your home are situated far beyond! I laughed, said, yes khun. You are right, I accept the 150. We drive home, in a nice mood. Say good farewell at destination. -

Hospital recommendation - Bangkok
Anyone can register at and use a military hospital in Thsikand, ditto other governmrnt hospitals. In Bangkok, no advantage to military vs the large university affiliated govrtnment hospitals. But in Bangkok waits are really long, often in cramped and uncomfortable conditions....dometimes stanfing room only. Need to arrive at crack of dawn and be prepared to spend all day. And your interactions will be with junior doctors in training, unless you use the quasi private "after hours" clinic. But thrse vost more and wsits are still dignificsnt. Best to have a Thai speaker with you to navigate the (formidable) bureacracy. Frankly for what you need at this point, unless you are seriously strapped financially, it doesn't make much sense to go through all this hassle. -

Yes, 3:04 am Sundays. I've called them from Thailand on the toll free number several times. I called at the time I realized I needed to clarify something. Call always answered in less than a minute. Always good listener, clear answer, always polite. They don't bite. Give it a try but don't call with a negative attitude. -
