Agency Taking Action After 1,000 Rai Of Corals Found To Be Diseased

THE DEPARTMENT of Marine and Coastal Resources is moving to declare a protected area and recruiting volunteers to help tackle the spread of yellow-band disease among corals spread across a thousand rai, or around 20 kilometres, off five upper and central Gulf of Thailand provinces, Matichon newspaper said.

Minister of Justice Somsak Thepsutin spoke to the media on Tuesday about the new law coming into force in January 2023.


New law, championed by Minister of Justice Somsak Thepsutin will come into effect on January 23rd next and is designed to help police deal with the threat posed by a small minority of dangerous and repeat offenders.

Three migrant workers from Myanmar and a Thai bus driver were killed and about 40 others injured when their bus crashed through a road barrier into a roadside ditch and overturned in the Mueang district of Tak Province on Tuesday night.

BTS train fares to increase 1-3 baht on January 1st
