The building that was supposed to be used as a luxury, air-conditioned lobby for passengers traveling to the Pattaya port in South Pattaya was constructed during the administration of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) in October 2016, according to local media. Despite a large sum of money spent on the lobby, it had only been used one time to host an event since its construction was completed in 2017. Local media said thousands of travelers visited the port every day, but the lobby always remained closed. thaibeachlovers Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Another fail by Pattaya administration. Have they ever done anything that hasn't made a dirty word of "administration"? 1

Popular Post bradiston Posted November 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2022 So why can't they just install seats in this building, and open it to the public? 5 2
Popular Post AhFarangJa Posted November 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2022 May I hazard a guess that a member of the Pattaya administration, the company who built it will get the contract to demolish it, and then build something else in its place..... 3

No doubt. Or maybe just rename Waterfront, Waiting Room. A little bit of refurb on the ground floor, good to go... 1

That was my first thought, too. Especially the restrooms. ISTR there were complaints about no restrooms available for folks boarding the ferries. 1
jacko45k Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Build it, and they shall come. I am not familiar with this building.. is it an airconditioned waiting area for the ferry. I would certainly go and sit in there and enjoy AC rather than wait out in the sun. 1
Popular Post jcmj Posted November 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2022 Well if they don’t open it, how do they expect people to use it. I just don’t understand their mindset on stuff like this. An easy fix. With all the people flocking to Koh Larn you’d think they’d want this as a good starting point. 2 1
RichardColeman Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Bet the person that ordered it is richer and still working. 2
newnative Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 So, why was it only used once? Why tear it down? 1

Longwood50 Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Why don't they convert it to a bar or a massage parlor and give the police something to raid. 1

AgMech Cowboy Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Considering the cost of a toilet in San Francisco, maybe they could work a deal and send them the toilets (of course minus the lobby). ???? 1
Sydebolle Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 The purpose of this lobby was to be built; once completed ............... I assume that the planning, bidding, construction and now the subsequent destruction goes absolutely clean and above board ???? Their money, not mine!

PETERTHEEATER Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Quote: After the demolition and the seat installation, the new place would be able to accommodate more than 100 exhausted travelers, said Manoch. Unquote Find out why the travellers are exhausted and fix the cause. Was the unused restroom equipped with beds?
