Drinking glasses

Featured Replies

Strange question perhaps, but is there somewhere in central Bangkok to buy cheap beer and wine glasses? If I was elsewhere I'd visit a 20 Baht shop and find them there, but I know that isn't possible in Bangkok. I might sound like a cheapskate, but I only need them for one night so don't really want to spend hundreds.

If you only need them for 1 night just buy some cheap plastic cups. If your guests have a problem with that, they really weren't friends to begin with so who cares.

How fast you need them? Perhaps Lazada.

Depends where you are in Bangkok. There is ( was) a big stall at Mixt Shopping Mall ( near Chatuchak Market) that sells cheap cheap drinking glassware of various types. I wasn't looking for wine glasses but they certainly sold various drinking glass types of glassware at 10 - 20 baht price range.

I'm not sure if Thailand has hire firms, that's what I did for my son's engagement party.

Plastic is safer than glass if there is going to be heavy drinking.

Visit the local temple. For a small donation / fee they will loan you as many as you need.

Restaurant supply stores.   They'll even deliver depending on the size if your order.

Otherwise, have you tried Tesco Lotus?

Near to the corner of Soi 8, by the Nana station steps is a shop that sells all that kind of stuff cheap, I get all my glasses, crockery, proper teapots, milk jugs etc. there.  Good quality too.

Shops outside Chatujak (JJ market side)

There's an idea. There's actually a good Japanese shop much more central on Suk 33/1 which might be worth trying. Not a warehouse, but I've bought many good things there.

There are a lot of them in Bangkok.
2 I just saw in the last 2 weeks  "The Mall ThaPra" and MBK.

Reading the title of this thread...  I the context I considered differed...

Judging by some of the ‘examples’ of the farer sex I see some Westerners walking around with I figured ‘drinking glasses’ (aka Beer goggles) to be ubiquitous to the extreme !!! :drunk:

You prompted me to check a Japanese outlet on Suk 33/1 and I found exactly what I wanted at 60 baht each. You win the gold star.
