Popular Post webfact
Daily News Thai Caption: Washing up liquid sweetener It is Thailand's latest "Food Drama" a trend whereby customers complain online about their meals and drinks. A lady waiting to check in at a luxury Koh Samui hotel couldn't understand why her Latte wasn't sweet. No matter how much sweetening syrup she was putting in it made no difference. Then she realised that the bottle without any label she was using was actually washing up liquid. Her brother who had paid for her trip joked that she was almost washing out her stomach contents. But it was no laughing matter. The lady concerned ran to the loo and threw up and then went to hospital feeling very queasy. Later the hotel GM apologized for the slip up promising better staff training. She was given a free stay and her hospital bills were covered. The brother begged posters - who commented in great numbers on Facebook's Hotel Addict - not to try and prise the name of the hotel from him. Daily News did not need to explain about Thailand's defamation laws where damage to reputations can result in serious consequences even if allegations are proven. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-12-23 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. As far as I know a bit of soap doesn't do any harm. Sounds like the lady scammed the hotel for a free holiday. 2 4

Popular Post HuskerDo2
"Later the hotel GM apologized for the slip up promising better staff training."....... Why is he apologizing for the woman's stupidity? I guess part of the staff training will be to inform each guest at check-in not to put soap in their latte as it'll give them diarrhea for a few days. Apparently, this lady already had diarrhea for brains. 2

KannikaP
Why would a bottle of Fairy Liquid be close to where she was having her coffee, and surely after one small drop, there would be bubbles showing. A scam by her, on the hotel I suspect. 1

Perhaps Fairy doesn't froth in coffee with milk.

In my experience most Thai washing up liquid requires a veritable niagara falls of water action to get some decent bubbles going, certainly a lot more than a gentle stir with a teaspoon. I feel it is fairly unlikely that she is partaking in any kind of scam. 2

The hotel did the right thing and should be commended for their action.

Dan O
Liquid sweetener or syrup is common a item often found in coffee shops and certainly in bars and restaurants. why was liquid soap in an unmarked bottle anywhere near the coffee area. jak2002003
Liquid soap is not toxic. It might make you feel sick for a short time. No need to go to a hospital! Slaps of a scam to me. Did she not have taste buds?
