What a remarkable cover by Townsend of The [English] Beat's Save It For Later which was off of their final '82 studio album Special Beat Service.  Must play the most excellent original version, too.

A standout live performance of Rough Boys.  :jap:

Well, you hit a trifecta with Townsend, zzaa09.  The same tune performed live during the same '86 concert as Rough Boys.

Patti Smith covers Nirvana's iconic '91 tune Smells Like Teen Spirit.  Off of her 2007 Twelve release.

That was an AM radio classic in '67 in the U.S.

"L'amour est bleu" (French pronunciation: [lamuʁ ɛ blø]; "Love Is Blue") is a song whose music was composed by André Popp, and whose lyrics were written by Pierre Cour, in 1967.  Bryan Blackburn later wrote English-language lyrics for it.  First performed in French by Greek singer Vicky Leandros (appearing as Vicky) as the Luxembourgish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967, it has since been recorded by many other musicians, most notably French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat, whose familiar instrumental version (recorded in late 1967) became the first number-one hit by a French lead artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in America.

Vicky Leandros' original version is worth a listen, too.

On a similar musical style is Herb Alpert's '68 single This Guy's In Love.

Back in time? When you were watching tv?

A very well done arrangement on that tune.  Reminds me of Mary Hopkin's '68 hit single Those Were The Days, a new English lyric put to the Russian romance song Дорогой длинною.  My mum loved this song.

Merle Haggard with California Blues (Blue Yodel #4) off of his '69 Same Train, Different Time LP.

Glenn Campbell with the title track of his '68 Wichita Lineman album.

Jessi Colter with Hold Back The Tears off of her '78 That's The Way A Cowboy Rocks And Rolls album.

And this one with a great guitar solo

Damn, that was a fantastic guitar solo.

I loved them when they were Chicago Transit Authority before they had to shorten their name to Chicago due to being threatened by a lawsuit by the actual CTA.  But I didn't care for them as their music evolved.

Introduction from that classic '69 debut double album.

South California Purples from that same masterful album.

Another progressive late 60's rock band that successfully incorporated brass and horns was Blood, Sweat & Tears.  I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know off of their '68 debut Child Is Father To The Man album.

Smiling Phases off of their self-titled Blood, Sweat & Tears second album released in '69.  I never owned the album.  I didn't have to.  My neighbor always played it loud enough for me to hear.

I missed it.  I must of been on the wrong continent at the time.
