That's a strong attraction of Pattaya. One can choose one's own preferred lifestyle and cross the rubicon and return at will for a break.

What bar does Rubicon work in?

Is there a bar inside where you can order beer @ 11am?

The only place I found with a 24hr bar was Garden Village Guest House in Siem Reap.

Mostly backpackers in their early 20s, quite nice to have a 50c beer served by the pool for my 6am swim.

Best place to live in Thailand actually.

An exchange more than a decade ago, probably in a yearly Doom thread:

Examples being drinking and addictions to cosmetic procedures. I recently dated a woman who could not afford food due to the cost of botox etc. Phew.

Where have all the flat noses gone in Pattaya?  Difficult to find a bargirl who hasn't had a nose job these days.   Some of the work turned out ok, but some looks terrible.

A place to visit....then get out......not somewhere to 'live'......and I love my visits.

Yet, you wish your visits could be longer.  ????

Thailand doesn't attract any winners IMHO.

One does wonder why (OK, not really), some prefer to live in the tourist ghettos.

It would be quite depressing for me.
