Tourist police, local officers and rescue officials went to the Ban Mor Paeng waterfall in Pai, Mae Hong Son, northern Thailand, after a foreign tourist fell. 

 

The Belgian tourist had arrived with a Moroccan national on a rented Honda motorcycle, reported Siam Rath.

The tourist was strapped to a stretcher and - with the assistance of another tourist according to pictures - carried out of the area and then was transported to Pai Hospital.

 

There it was discovered the victim had a broken spine.

The victim, unnamed as yet, was then transferred to Bangkok Chiang Mai Hospital.

 

Police assisted the friend of the victim in gathering up possessions of the victim at their hotel.

Rocks around waterfalls are slippery and dangerous.

This sort of accident is easily avoided.

Let's hope and pray that he has has adequate insurance cover and he has a chance of making a full recovery.

You don't need travel or medical insurance these days....just set up a 'go fund me' page and total strangers will pay for you. 

This happens so frequently they should designate these attractions as Wet People Falls.
