Belgian tourist suffers broken back after slip at waterfall in North

Tourist police, local officers and rescue officials went to the Ban Mor Paeng waterfall in Pai, Mae Hong Son, northern Thailand, after a foreign tourist fell. 

 

The Belgian tourist had arrived with a Moroccan national on a rented Honda motorcycle, reported Siam Rath

The tourist was strapped to a stretcher and - with the assistance of another tourist according to pictures - carried out of the area and then was transported to Pai Hospital.

 

There it was discovered the victim had a broken spine.

The victim, unnamed as yet, was then transferred to Bangkok Chiang Mai Hospital.

 

Police assisted the friend of the victim in gathering up possessions of the victim at their hotel.

This sort of accident is easily avoided.

You don't need travel or medical insurance these days....just set up a 'go fund me' page and total strangers will pay for you.
