Prayut has to be able to keep an eye on that pesky Thaksin and his whereabouts somehow, lol!

A quick look at the photo and I thought it was one of Prawits borrowed watches.  Time to send this whole government into orbit.

Imagine they found out that Thailand is not the centre of the Earth...

  • Any thoughts on who they can send up in it?

At least they can pocket the spare parts budget once it's up in space.

There really should be a checklist...

1.  military.  you really do need to protect your country from itself and from others

2.  education

3.  poor

4.  more social programs

5 to 199 : maybe in Thailand it's rice or rubber or manufacturing or whatever.

Somehow Thailand and space don't seem like a comfortable fit. Am I underestimating the science and technology here?

Good to see everyone hoping they will have similar success as the UK.

LONDON (AP) — British officials and space scientists said Tuesday they were disappointed but not deterred after the first attempt to launch satellites into orbit from the U.K. ended in failure.

they can use it to track the progress of the floods during the rainy season that they had assured us would not occur.

Explore earth to discover that there are other countries and signs of life outside of Thailand?!?

A satellite is not required for this. just to learn English, which for better or worse is the 2nd language of the World,  and teach English and geography (most cant even read a map) in Thai schools to give students the tools to get a passport and go explore the outside of Thailand for themselves Not keep the population chain bound, brainwashed and blinkered by Thai so that they can be more easily controlled, manipulated and exploited for cheap labour.

The THEOS (Thai Earth Optical Space system) programme was set up in 2005 and was intended to benefit from several other new space programmes at the time. If memory serves, the parent company was European Aeronautic Defence and Space (AEDS), a French company. Thai engineers were to attend extensive training from European experts. However, I didn't follow it up but I do remember that the scheduled launch was before 2010. Maybe that was THEOS-1 which I don't recall reading about. Perhaps someone else on the forum has more up to date info.

It was designed to be used to explore the Earth, for public disaster management...

Then better not point the camera at Thailand

No mention of launch vehicle and location. Possibly Bang Fai from Buriram?

It is what it is, about right actually, we’re not in Kansas, but what’s that gotta do with the price of fish? If it were the same as your home country, would you be able to afford it here? How’s about the average Indian wage while poverty reigns supreme and Britain still sends them billions every single year. They have a huge space industry compared with Britain. All irrelevant.

Britain has a Space agency and sent a rocket up in 1971 successfully. It also has or is about to launch from a Virgin aircraft a rocket carrying satellits. 1986 saw a British woman in Space (Mz Sherman) and more recently Space walks carried out by Brits. Wish people would stop the derogatory spin about the UK. We just don't boast everytime we cross the road.
