Popular Post Alexzweiner Posted March 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 5, 2023 Previously, we created a motorbike rental business. Because I do not have the right to engage in this business in Thailand, bikes were registered on her name. Broke up with a girl. She took the documents for motorcycles and threatens the police if I do not give all the bikes to her. Some of the bikes are still in rental. Advise with practical advice what I can do in this situation so as not to lose all motorcycles. 2 8
Popular Post Shop mak Posted March 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 5, 2023 Bikes in her name. You practically lost all bikes already. Nothing you can do then. Unless you have a loan agreement with her, which I guess you don't. Edit: it isn't theft when they are registered in her name. 16 4 1

I've read over 768 million of these stories, and they just keep happening!!!! tomorrow, his house "gone" but it was really her house all along. sorry bro, maybe get back with her, sell the bikes, then break up 4 4 2

You cannot do anything as you have no bikes, what makes you think that you could be able to get her bikes? Whose bukes are you claiming she is stealing...are there others not registered in her name? 8
Hummin Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Did you make Company ? Or even company solely in her name? Where did you get the money from, and if you transferred from abroad, did you register what you going to spend the money on?

Seriously, even if there were a legal way to save something from the wreckage , the legal fees would probably wipe out a lot of any value of the motorcycles you succeed in saving. There is a saying here. Don't invest in anything you can't afford to walk away from.. You have not mentioned how much money you stand to lose. What figure are we talking about ? 2 1 1

Dan O Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 What is she threatening to contact the police about? If bikes in her name nothing you can do as she owns them and also nothing to go to the police over. You'rE not threatening her in some way are you? If so it won't end very well for you. 2
OneMoreFarang Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Theoretically speaking, what would you do if she would return all those bikes? Would you sell them? How? They are not in your name, you can't legally sell them. Would you rent them? It seems you legally can't do that. If this is real, then IMHO try to make a deal with her. Sell them and share the profit. Ask for 50% but be prepared to accept less. Because it seems legally you have no alternative.

She owned the business, and I helped create the business. Own and create can be mutually exclusive. I created the cure for cancer, then Pfizer fired me and sold it as their own. Happens.
Popular Post Paradise Pete Posted March 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 5, 2023 The two most likely outcomes are: 1. She keeps the motorcycles. 2. She keeps the motorcycles and you get deported. 2 1 2

Agree, if he don't hand over the remaining bikes asap, she has a strong case she can present to Police, and if she's really angry at him, she also goes to Immigration. OP is silent, maybe he grasp his huge and costly mistake 250k-700k? All could easily been avoided had OP asked on this forum earlier: I and my thai gf of ? months want to start a motorcycle rental business. How should I go forward to avoid any problems? 4
Popular Post Andycoops Posted March 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2023 If it's in her name it's hers, bad luck. I put everything in my wife's name because I can't be arsed to deal with any fallout and it will be hers when I pop my clogs anyway. I came to retire here not run a business in a foreign country after 40 years of working in the country of my birth. 4 2
Elkski Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 I wish honest OP questions like this didn't get such ridiculous replies. I can see myself posting a question like this as I realized I may be in deep do do.

Popular Post Elkski Posted March 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2023 I do think the title is incorrect. She owned them from day 1 and knew it. Correct me if I'm wrong but the safer way to do this is to start a company with 3 employees and put the cycles in the company name. 3 1

And only because you worked somewhere far away your whole life doesn't mean everybody does that. I realized that moving to Thailand will improve my life when I was still relatively young. ???? 2
