And now his Family are trying to get him back to the UK so that they can get him on the free NHS I guess ... For the rest of the Huge time and Bill it looks like taking. ??? Possibly just to keep him alive. I feel sorry for the Thai Driver you know !!! Like they all do not just walk out their doors drunk, and saying "Lets go out and get a Forigner" ... Like the rest of us !!! ... They walk out the door and say "Phewwww Let's Get Home" !!! ... And then they come around a corner ? ... Or out of the general Gloom of 3 am on the Morning ! ... And there is a Foreigner !!! (From any where) ... With no helmut, drunk and on his Phone to his girl friend, ... Parked or just going too slowly, in the wrong part of the Road !! !!!!! In front if him ! !! And I just say to the people who are trying to get ? Over 20% of their GDP out of Tourism !!!! ... Well THIS ! IS What IS going to happen !!! ... If you keep on doing this ! And it would happen Any where. There was a French Woman on Holidays in Australia near my home once who just drove out of the Camping ground, ... turned Right I think and went straight on to the wrong side of the road ! ... Like she would in France ! ... And then took off at speed !!! ... And ran straight in to the front of a local woman who was just taking her Daughter to School ! ... ( I think ) And the local woman at least? I think ? Was just killed Out right on the spot. ( Though this was a pretty long tome ago now ) But Put Tourists on and in Motor Viechrls ! ... In Strange places ! ... Like particularly in Thailand !!! ... And then you ARE !!! Going to have quite a bit of trouble like this !!! I think ? For sure. And I hate to say it, but most foreign tourist who jump on motorcycles have no experience riding in their own country no less on "The Most Dangerous Roads In The World" here in Thailand. This is a dangerous place to ride/drive and statistically 80% of the fatalities on the road are - motorcycles. The young man should have had a helmet on. But when the young boys go to Thailand, they think (as we all did) they're immortal, can do all sorts of stuff that they could never do back home, and unfortunately Thailand teaches you that when the sh*&*t hits the fan, some of those annoying rules back home were made for a reason! I have just been Diagnised with a Rare form of Skin Cancer, that could be fatal ? So I have a different End Game philosophy to work on. ... My first trip to Thailand was in 1988. I stayed on the beach at Koh Samui in some rental bungalow for about 10 days. One day someone asked me: Had you noticed the red-haired German guy staying a few bungalows away? I said yes. The guy said: Well he's dead. Motorcycle crash. Crash helmets can improve your chances of survival by about 35%. ...they are limited in what they can do. Of course it's best to wear a helmet but they are not some kind of panacea. People are far too keen to make ill-informed judgments on this guy's fate based on a smug "holier than thou" attitude. It just shows how little they understand about crashes and analysis thereof.
