The way the Chinese behave is enough to anger anyone, we would never take reservations from them in S France after a few disasters. Maybe the Thai hoteliers , restaurants etc have had enough of them.  I remember an ex condo cleaner in Jomtien telling me she was in a local big hotel, and that the Chinese had ruined the rooms, this was about 5 yrs back. There were a family in my small building the other day, despite signs everywhere ( the place is very well maintained)  they smoked, drank bottled beer in the pool, made a total mess, and washed their sandals in the pool before they left ! ( there are showers ) .We all stood on out balcony’s and stared !!! They were gone the next day. Thank’God, no welcome from me.  This fake news is maybe because of the reactions they have caused while being here.

A win win situation from my perspective! I don't own a business here that depends on the Chinese so I only see the negative side of them being here, the less the better!

would that include the police and the government themselves? why should anyone be concerned when the Thai supreme court rule it is OK to charge All Foreigners more because we are better off it type of thinking only breeds the thinking by its people.

At least they didn’t walk their clothes in the pool. Yours must have been middle class.

Thailand is no different than any other country when it comes to ripping tourists off.  It is just they are not that subtle.

Pakistan and India are well known for tri-pricing—local pay, foreigner pay, Brit and American pay.

 

As nothing gets done in China without Big Brother knowing this is an attempt to keep the tourism money in the country and not out.  I am sure that if Vietnam or India became hot spots for Chinese tourism there would be something about them.  Also, remember most Chinese that come here on tour come in very regulated groups.

Thailand has sought to reassure Chinese travellers that the country is a safe holiday destination following widely circulated claims online about the risk of human trafficking.

“Thailand attaches great importance to the quality of Chinese tourists’ travels, their safety and good impression of Thailand,” the Thai embassy in Beijing said on Thursday, adding that relevant departments would “take corresponding measures to fully maintain and guarantee the safety of tourists”.

“The [embassy] fully understands tourists’ concerns about safety. Thailand has always been popular with tourists from all over the world.

“Since [China] has allowed Chinese tourists to travel abroad, Thailand has made comprehensive preparations to welcome [them] and has added many communication channels for [them], providing convenience and security to tourists to obtain information and report emergencies to the tourism police.”
